The Happiness team at United Arab Emirates (UAEU) has launched the country’s first university-based happiness app. Designed to measure satisfaction levels of staff at UAEU, the app was unveiled at a launch event held in the university’s Crescent Building in Al Ain this week in the presence of a number of deans and employees.

Dr. Ateeq Al Mansoori, a member of the UAEU Happiness Council, explained that the app will measure employee satisfaction and provide a platform for exchanging ideas and opinions while contributing information for future development of the university’s services. The initiative is part of an ongoing effort by the university to implement the UAE’s National Happiness and Positivity program.

Dr. Al Mansoori added that UAEU is the first university in the country to implement such an app, which was developed in collaboration with Happy Force, a Spanish developer. He explained: “This app has proven to be an effective tool worldwide to measure employee satisfaction via weekly assessment of their responses.

Implementing it at UAEU will help us to determine new areas for development.” He concluded that the aim of the initiative is to foster positivity and to “bring a smile to the faces of everyone at UAEU.”

Currently in pilot phase, the app is being tested on a randomly chosen sample group of 330 employees before it is rolled out across the campus.
