Sharjah, United Arab Emirates: The Emirate of Sharjah is preparing to celebrate the 46th National Day with a variety of unique events that bring together both citizens and residents to mark this national occasion. The festivities will commence on Wednesday the 22nd of November and continue till Sunday the 3rd of December in the cities of Sharjah, Khor Fakkan, Kalba, Dibba Al Hosn, Al Thaid, Al Hamriyah and Al Bataeh.
His Excellency Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Higher Committee of the 46th National Day Celebrations and Tareq Al Naqbi, Vice Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee, in addition to the heads of sub-committees and representatives of municipal councils in the cities of the Emirate and Sharjah Police convened to discuss the events planned for National Day. His Excellency Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Higher Committee of the 46th National Day Celebrations, said that: "Since the UAE's founding by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God bless his soul and his brothers the members of the Higher Council and Rulers of the Emirates and the outstanding leadership by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Committee is excited to celebrate the achievements, progress and development of the country in various fields through the events and activities organised for National Day. We are keen to implement the directives of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, member of the Higher Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who stressed that citizens and residents of all society segments are invited participate in the celebrations."
Al Midfa emphasised that the activities of this year's national day celebration include Sharjah city, Khorfakkan, Kalba, Dibba Al-Hosn, Al-Thaid, Al-Hamriya and Al-Batih. Festivities start from Wednesday the 22nd of November until Sunday the 3rd of December. A vibrant program of events and shows will take place as part of the varied schedule prepared by the Higher Committee for the celebrations. Several ministries, governmental bodies and institutions as well as cultural and artistic associations and organisations operating in different cities of the Emirate of Sharjah will be attending the National Day Celebrations.
Khorfakkan Celebrations
Wednesday the 22nd of November at 5:00 PM in the city of Khorfakkan, which will include a wonderful air show by the Cavalrymen of the UAE followed by a parade of the Parachutists from our armed forces showing their skills and experiences. This will be followed by the military parade of the armed forces, and a series of celebrations and events will follow in this city and the rest of the cities of the country.
Dibba Al-Hisn
On Friday 24th November, Dibba Al-Hisn will kick off its National Day celebrations with various activities and events, starting from National Day Parade beginning from Al Oked street ending at the Corniche. In addition to the parades, Dibba Al Hisn will also witness UAE folklore and music performances and spectacular fireworks displays.
Sharjah City Celebrations
The official celebrations will begin in Sharjah at 8:00 PM on Tuesday the 28th of November at the Sharjah National Park.
His Excellency Jassim Al Midfa invites citizens, residents and visitors in the Emirate of Sharjah to enjoy the beautiful shows and events that have been chosen and curated to suit all ages.
