Amman, Jordan – talabat Jordan, the region’s leading food and grocery delivery app, proudly announced that 130 of their volunteering employees gave a total of 294 hours in the month of October, as part of the Hero Month Initiative, for the children and youth living in SOS Children’s Villages in the country.

Hero Month is designated as the month of volunteering where all employees across the talabat network are encouraged to volunteer for initiatives giving back to the community. Across the region, talabat offices have partnered with local charities to create volunteering opportunities for their employees in each market. Through this year’s Hero Month initiatives, the company aims to make a positive impact in each of the communities where they operate through achieving more than 1,500 volunteer hours across the region.

For their contribution, talabat Jordan chose to spend their time with the young people in SOS Children's Villages care. Manifesting the wide-ranging talents employed by the company, their volunteers offered tutoring in English, Arabic, and Math, coaching for chess and football, as well as workshops for creative skills such as arts and crafts, cooking, drawing, singing, photography, and much more. talabat also hosted a Fun Day for SOS at Trax Jo, with lots of games, music, and other fun activities enjoyed by the children and talabat employees. The event was in partnership with Trax Jo, with refreshments supplied by talabat’s partners such as McDonald's, Al Daya’a, Qaysar Pizza, and Planet Donuts, and tmart provided goodie bags with snacks for the kids to enjoy.

Hala Siraj, talabat Jordan’s Managing Director, said “We are very proud of the amazing effort and energy which our employees poured into volunteering for this year’s Hero Month activities at SOS Children’s Villages. Demonstrating that at talabat we collectively share a duty of responsibility towards our local community’s most vulnerable members, especially children and youth. Spending our time with them is one way in which we can contribute to help give them the best start in life.”

For Hero Month in 2019, talabat Jordan volunteered a total of 180 hours in partnership with Tkiyet Um Ali and Baitna Dafi - Bayt Al Urdon. The event did not take place in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions, talabat focused their efforts instead on charitable initiatives to help with the national pandemic relief effort.

Through talabat’s virtual charity platform, hosted on the app, customers can donate to an increasing number of local charities, including SOS Children's Villages Jordan. Along with this continuing mechanism for supporting local charitable organizations, the company has carried out numerous corporate responsibility initiatives and programs for communities in need across Jordan, the region, and worldwide.
