Kurdistan – Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org)/TAGI-Train and Erbil Polytechnic University (EPU) signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the services provided by the organization.
The MoU was signed by the Executive Director of TAGI-Train, Dr. Fatin Kerzan, on behalf of the Organization and University President HE Kawh Abdul Kareem Sherwani on behalf of the University.
Dr. Fatin said: "TAG-Org is a group of professional service firms in the fields of Accounting, Audit, Educational Consultancy, Professional and Technical Training, Technology Transfer, Project Management, Human Resources and Recruitment Services, E-Commerce, E-Education, IT and Internet Skills Training and Examinations. Through its various partnerships at its offices around the world, it seeks to contribute to providing the best service and developing and building capacities.
For his part, Dr. Sherwani affirmed: “The university is proud of its cooperation with this global organization. The university aims to serve the community and qualify its staff by providing them with the skills, knowledge and professional services necessary to keep pace with technological developments. This would not only benefit the university in particular but the region in general."
A joint working group was formed to discuss e means of cooperation and how the university can benefit from the services provided by the organization. This will include holding training courses and programs for students which focus on marketable skills in Auditing and Finance, Human Resources, Bank Management and Information Technology. In addition, accounting courses leading to qualifications such as the International Arab Certified Public Accountant (IACPA) and Jordan Certified Public Accountant (JCPA) will be offered at discounted fees for the students of the Faculty of Business and Finance in addition to certificates such as TAG-CIT (Talal Abu-Ghazaleh certificate information technology), and University of Cambridge Certificates in English.
The two sides will cooperate to hold joint career exhibitions and will work together to teach non-Arabic-speaking students Arabic, and the modern languages offered by the University which include French, German, Italian, Farsi, Turkish and Kurdish. The cooperation will also involve the exchange of lectures in all academic disciplines of joint interest and the disciplines of the faculties of Business and Finance and IT.
The University is interested in studying for later discussion the possibility of establishing a Talal Abu-Ghazaleh graduate of business in Erbil and cooperating in opening programs in different fields.
