Dubai, UAE: Summertown Interiors, the UAE’s leading fit out contractor specialising in green interiors, has announced it is officially WELL-registered to pursue WELL Certification for its own office interiors in Dubai. WELL Certification is administered by the International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI™) through its WELL Building Standard™ (WELL) - the premier building standard to focus on enhancing people’s health and wellness through the buildings where we live, work and play.
The WELL Building Standard™ is a performance-based system for measuring, certifying, and monitoring features of the built environment that impact human health and wellness, through Air, Water, Nourishment, Light, Fitness, Comfort, and Mind. WELL is grounded in a body of evidence-based research that explores the connection between the buildings where we spend approximately 90 percent of our time, and the health and wellness impacts on us as occupants of these buildings.

In its efforts to achieve certification, Summertown Interiors will look to implement new policies and modifications work – the team will be put through rigorous testing and a final evaluation by a third-party Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). There are currently 14 companies registered for WELL Certification in the United Arab Emirates – Summertown’s goal is to be awarded the gold certification by March 2020.

Secondly, it will enable our team to learn first-hand the process of WELL certification, and thus enabling us to provide experiential informed advice to clients wishing to purse WELL certification.”
