Sharjah: Sharjah for Capability Development (SCD), a subsidiary of Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, is continuing efforts to deliver cutting edge training programmes to Emirati youth, in a bid to increase the availability of skilled professionals who will further the emirate’s vision of sustainable development.
SCD debuted the latest version of the three-part coaching and capability building Qudraati series for 20 staff members of government departments and private organisations in Sharjah.
The programme attracted 35 participants in its first edition. Qudraati aims to enhance its participants’ self-confidence and encourage them to tap into their fullest potential as professionals as well as human beings. The main goal of the programme is to enable them to discover their innovative leadership qualities through self-motivation and self-learning, to benefit not only the workplace but also society.
The main goals of the four-month programme will be introduced through one-to-one sessions by education and development expert, Amal Saad. During the first phase, each participant was allotted a 60-minute session to speak frankly and share ideas in a neutral, non-work environment.
The second phase of the programme will be delivered under the theme ‘Progress Coaching’ and include the creation and customisation of tools necessary to meet the objectives laid out in the first phase. The third phase titled ‘Results and Development’ which will take place across five days in November will evaluate the outcomes and explore opportunities to develop participants’ leadership skills. In December, the final phase titled ‘Leader Reflect and Share’ will be a group session with all participants sharing their experiences with the coach.
Khalid Ibrahim Alnakhi, SCD’s Acting Director, stressed that the Qudraati programme embodies the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, who is keen on offering young Emirati professionals every opportunity to excel at work, in society, and in life.
“The essence of all our professional programmes including Qudraati lie in enabling and supporting Emirati youths’ journey of innovation and leadership – one rooted in Emirati values and our national identity. They are not only aimed at professionals but also fresh university graduates who aspire to begin their careers with practical professional training backing their academic accomplishments”, he added.
Alnakhi further said that Qudraati embodied SCD’s strategy to help develop individuals into critical and creative thinkers and contribute substantially to Sharjah’s and the UAE’s sustainable development project.
