DUBAI: Salalah Methanol Company (SMC), an Oman-based methanol producer, has purchased Hexagon solutions to improve the integration between the in-house plant design solutions and overall 3D design efficiency. Salalah Methanol Company purchased solutions, including Intergraph Smart® 3D, Intergraph Smart Instrumentation, SmartPlant® P&ID and SmartSketch®, to enable a data-centric approach to maximize project communication between disciplines.
Hexagon solutions allow Salalah Methanol Company to access different types of data and drawings in a centralized manner, and to easily update the existing data when changes occur in the plant or the equipment. The company will use Hexagon tools in all its plant modification projects in the future, ensuring that the current documentation continues to represent the as-built situation of the facility.
- Manoj Cirasanambati, Head of Planning and Projects at Salalah Methanol Company, said, “At SMC, we continuously challenge the limits while aiming for excellence, and for this we need the best tools in the market. We are confident that together with Hexagon PPM we can exceed expectations and improve our design and engineering quality beyond what was previously thought possible.”
Philippe Marceau, Hexagon’s PPM division executive vice president for EMIA, said, “Hexagon’s data-centric approach to plant design enables our clients, such as Salalah, to significantly improve design efficiency by providing centralized visibility and control.”
Intergraph Smart 3D – a next generation, data-centric, and rule-driven solution – is specifically designed to deliver mission-critical requirements. Breaking through barriers imposed by traditional technologies to enable a truly iterative design environment, Smart 3D provides a competitive edge to EPCs and owner operators alike.
