Doha, Qatar: In line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 towards developing human capital and as part of its mission, Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) in collaboration with the CFA Society Doha organized a free CFA information session on Tuesday May 8, in order to create an awareness for finance professionals on the importance of being certified in a fast moving world and give participants an idea as to what they can expect from taking this course at QFBA. Participants from different sectors in Qatar such as Georgetown University, Qatar National Bank (QNB), Shell Qatar and KPMG in Qatar, have joined the session.

QFBA, in collaboration with CFA Society, are successfully implementing programs that work towards creating a knowledge-based economy.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Emadi, Acting CEO of QFBA, said:

“Since inception, we have been implementing innovative approaches in honing the right skills among finance professionals. In sync with the Qatar National Vision 2030, we have taken it upon ourselves to keep the young professionals abreast with changing economic conditions and how they best strategize workable solutions that aim towards operational excellence and organizational prowess. Such initiatives only strengthen our motto and reach out to masses.”

Enis Kefi, CFA, Executive Director at CFA Society Qatar, said:

“Our mission at CFA Society Doha is to raise the professional standards in the Qatar capital market by supporting the professional development of our members and of the entire investment community.

This event is a significant step in this direction. The free session hosted by QFBA is one of the activities designed to inform investment professionals about the need to invest in their education and about the benefits and the challenges of the CFA Program. We are extremely happy to join hands with QFBA in order to drive the Qatar Vision 2030 ahead. This is just the start and we would keep hosting such initiatives more often to increase the professionalism in the Qatar financial markets”

In order to live up to this revelation, Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) was established in 2009 under the auspices of Qatar Financial Centre Authority – QFCA to raise the financial services industry standards and help organizations and professionals achieve their learning and business objectives, thus aligned with Qatar 2030 vision. The Academy specializes in providing training and developing the financial sector. For QFBA, learning is a journey rather than an event. The Academy intends to accompany professionals and corporates in that journey, sharing knowledge, skills and experiences to create their own success stories.

Utilizing a four-stage process (Diagnose – Design – Deliver – Evaluate), QFBA partners with world-class organizations to design customized learning programs addressing the business issues they face now and into the future. Drawing from its pool of learning professionals and expert practitioners from around the region and the world, custom programs are delivered using innovative and relevant learning methodologies.
