Doha, Qatar: Qatar Postal Services Company (Qatar Post) has announced the launch of the official stamp for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021™. This comes as part of the signed agreement between Qatar Post and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), under which Qatar Post is designated as the official licensee for commemorative stamps for the tournament. This edition was revealed at a special ceremony held at Arab Postal Stamp Museum hall in Katara on 29 November.
The FIFA Arab Cup™ tournament will be hosted from 30th November to 18th December 2021 in some of the stadiums that will host the FIFA World Cup™ in Qatar in 2022, offering fans the chance to experience the football tournament ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. The event is set to host 16 teams, gathering amazing players from the region.
The 3rd edition of the official stamp under the license agreement between FIFA and Qatar Posts, is dedicated to FIFA Arab Cup™ and inspired by the colours of the flags of participating Arab nations and iconic football-field vernacular, reflecting the vibrancy and exuberance of the event. 10,000 copies, 2,000 first-day covers, 2,000 postcards and 1,000 folders have been printed and will be available for purchase, from QR 8.50, at Qatar Post branches and its website.
This follows the release of two previous editions by Qatar Post for the FIFA World Cup™, launched in cooperation with FIFA and the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, and falls within Qatar Post’s mandate to document all events, celebrations and preparations managed by the State of Qatar in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
On this occasion, Qatar Post expressed its great pleasure in announcing the launch of the official stamp for FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021™ in collaboration with FIFA and the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy. Moreover, Qatar Post hinted at its long-standing reputation for documenting Qatar’s greatest achievements and events, that now include the FIFA Arab Cup™ – to be hosted by Qatar for the first time in its history. It confirmed that FIFA fans from around the world, stamp collectors, and Qatari residents will all have the opportunity to purchase the stamps as mementos of this iconic tournament.
Qatar Post will continue to design stamps in commemoration of every stage of preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, which simultaneously highlight the rich legacy and history of the State of Qatar in the field of football. Only a few months ago, Qatar Post launched the first and second edition of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ official stamp that is distinctive for its unique design, taking the form of Qatar’s map and bearing the official logo of the tournament. In parallel, Qatar Post has also launched a set of stamps to document the inauguration of the Doha Metro: a mega-project that adopts the latest sustainable practices and advanced transportation solutions in the world and will serve the Qatari community and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ fans.
