Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The 2nd Annual PropTech Middle East, held under the patronage of the Dubai Land Department concluded successfully earlier this week. In its second edition, the conference was very well received, with over 400 attendees representing property management, sales, and marketing, leasing, technology and investment professionals based across the GCC region attending the conference.
Mahmud Al Burai, Senior Advisor, Real Estate Regulatory Agency opened day 2 of the conference with a presentation on rethinking cities of the future in light of technology and sustainability. During his presentation, he spoke on the real estate industry roadmap over the years, while sharing insights on how technology has helped us to build a more transparent real estate market.
Karim Eljisr, Executive Director – Research & Development, Diamond Developers presented on how technology merging with sustainability provided a better lifestyle for residents. He shared a case study of The Sustainable City in Dubai and how it met the three pillars of sustainability – social, environmental and economic and how with the use of technology, better sustainability practices have been implemented for the residents of The Sustainable City.
The property marketing panel discussion moderated by Ashutosh Sahoo of Sobha Developers was extremely engaging with panelists Caroline Rowe of The First Group, Makram Hani of Arms & Mcgregor International Realty, Omniyat Official’s Meenakshi Khanchandani, Sophia Syed of Binghatti Holding and Suad Aljamali of Zawaya Property discussing at length the importance of content marketing, the popular marketing tools to ensure ROI and the challenges in retaining customer interest through social media platforms.
Levtech Consulting’s Bijoy Chandrabalan, Firas Al Msaddi, CEO of Fam Properties and Fatma Hashim, Associate Partner, Driven Properties presented on technology trends that are shaping the future of real estate, how to scale up the size of business and proptech’s role in UAE’s real estate market respectively.
Dr. Ivan Andric, Senior Manager, Research & Development, IMKAN Properties moderated the panel discussion on IoT and AI for smart homes, where he was joined by experts from Fam Properties, Bloom Holding, ADDA, Aldar Properties, and Arms & Mcgregor International Realty. They shared insights on the challenges that customers will face while using smart home technology, the future of home automation and discussed in-depth the role of AI in home automation.
The last session to end the conference was a panel discussion on digital payments and its impact on the real estate industry that was moderated by Angelica Krystle Donati, of Donati Immobiliare Group & Venture Partner Concrete VC with other experts representing Commercial Bank of Dubai, Al Mazaya Real Estate, Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate LLC, Diamond Developers, and Inventally. Their discussion covered aspects ranging from the effects of digital transactions in the real estate industry to the advantages and challenges. They also briefly spoke about the future of Dubai Land Department’s smart digitized platform Real Estate Self Transaction (REST) and how it is set to transform the current real estate landscape.
