Registration is now open for Project Qatar 2019, the nation’s biggest and longest-established construction event, which will take place between 29 April and 1 May. Held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, this year’s edition promises to be the most diverse in its history.
The event’s impact and contribution to the construction industry in Qatar has grown consistently since its launch in 2004, and it is now a mainstay of the international construction industry calendar. The 2019 edition has been carefully tailored to be aligned with the journey towards the realisation of the Qatar National Vision 2030. It will provide a unique platform for global industry players to learn how best to tap into the nation’s array of construction-related opportunities, as Qatar’s infrastructural upgrades gain pace.
“Last year, Project Qatar attracted 1,700 companies from 29 participating countries,” said Haidar Mshaimesh, General Manager of IFP Qatar. “And, just as we have done each year since the event’s inception, we will build on this success and ensure that 2019 is the year that Project Qatar cements its position as the nation’s blue chip construction event, designed to help Qatar achieve its long-term aims. We are confident that Project Qatar 2019 will be the most comprehensive and diverse yet.”
Running concurrently with the exhibition for the second consecutive year, Project Qatar Conference is set to discuss and explore various aspects of The Future of Construction in Qatar. With keynote addresses by senior representatives of the Public Works Authority (ASHGHAL) and Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the participation of high-level government speakers, market leaders and specialists, the three-day conference will discuss in depth the following themes: Building Today for The Future Qatar; Iconic Real Estate Developments Towards 2022 FIFA World Cup; Technology and Innovation for The Future of Energy in Qatar; and Qatar’s Smart Cities – Transforming The Future .
The theme for Day 1 is Building Today for The Future Qatar. A series of sessions designed to highlight opportunities available to foreign and local companies in the Qatari market will take place, led by Ashghal, Qatar Financial Centre, and Manateq Economic Zones Company.
The opening session of Day 2 is themed Iconic Real Estate Developments Towards 2022 FIFA World Cup, and will feature discussions and presentations relating to some of the nation’s key infrastructure projects including the Museum of Islamic Art, the 2022 FIFA World Cup projects, and the National Museum of Qatar. The sessions will also highlight the opportunities available for construction companies in advance of 2022.
The second session of Day 2 will focus on Technology and Innovation for The Future of Energy in Qatar, and will include lectures relating to retrofitting, solar energy, and facility management in the construction industry.
On Day 3, the sessions will cover Qatar’s Smart Cities – Transforming The Future, and will highlight the ways in which new cities in Qatar are being planned and built as cities of the future. The session will conclude with a panel discussion featuring representatives from Parsons International, Msheireb Properties, and Qatar Green Building Council.
Alongside its conference and exhibition, Project Qatar 2019 will also see the introduction of an array of skills and career development sessions for construction industry professionals. Attendees will be able to participate in CPD-certified training sessions and workshops, which are being offered free of charge throughout the event.
Additionally, Project Qatar will continue to present unrivalled networking and new business opportunities for construction industry operatives. The long-running and hugely successful B2B Platform will feature once again, helping consumers and exhibitors to make new contacts and forge new business relationships based on their matching areas of interest and priorities.
IFP Qatar, the leading events’ organizer behind Project Qatar, promises that through such synergy of various functions under one roof, the event is going to be the “not be missed trade fair of the year” in Qatar. Adding that to the promising nature of the abundant opportunities in the Qatari market itself, Project Qatar seems very well positioned to serve solid business prospects for both the exhibitors and the visitors alike.
