Dubai: AquaShield, a leading global provider of innovative, clean and healthy water solutions, today, launched its state-of-the-art bottled water dispenser innovation during its participation at the 21st Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2019) in Dubai. The new bottled water dispenser is based on the Micro P-Clean micro-plastic filtration system, which features 1-micron filtration accuracy that removes up to 99% of micro-plastic from water. In addition, the ultraviolet (UV) technology in the cold-water tank helps prevent the growth of bacteria to provide safe and healthy drinking water free of any impurities. The launch is one of the highlights of AquaShield’s participation at WETEX 2019, which is being organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 21 - 23.
Aqua Shield, the global exclusive licensee of the Philips brand of water purifiers, dispensers and heaters, revealed that the new water dispenser is equipped with a 4,000-litre partial plastic filter, with a year-long efficiency, as well as a smart clear display "ClearSmart," which shows notifications for the replacement date. The new technology uses ultraviolet rays in the cold-water tank, to prevent bacteria and keep the water clean.
Furthermore, the product comes with a user-friendly design, which makes it highly convenient for everyday use. It provides cold, hot and ambient water for different needs. The QuickTwist filter design makes it very easy to change the filter –a simple twist of the filter with no need for professional service. It also has a wider dispensing area that can fit various sizes of containers, such as a mug, a glass, a bowl or even a pot.
Recent research by the Guardian shows bottled water is not a clean water alternative, as it is contaminated with plastic fibres from the manufacturing process of bottles and caps. During the study, 242 of 259 bottles (93%) were found to be contaminated with microplastic particles globally. On average the bottled water tested contained 325 pieces of microplastic per litre.
