MUSCAT, OMAN : In September, MENA Innovation 2019  – the high-level forum dedicated to commercial partnerships, ICT innovations and best practices necessary for developing ‘future-proofed’ education infrastructures, will take place in Muscat, Oman.

The event steering committee is proud to confirm education, higher education & ICT ministerial participation from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Djibouti and Somalia to join the multiple ministers taking part from the Government of Oman. With 3 months to go until the forum, many more confirmations are still to follow in time for this landmark gathering of senior decision-makers, held from 15-17 September 2019.

This milestone Event will spotlight a region truly at the dawn of an ‘information revolution’. MENA Innovation will draw together a congregation of public and private sector leaders with seasoned yet diverse backgrounds in technology-driven education modernization, held under the patronage of the Sultanate of Oman and led by HE Dr Rawya Al Busaidi, Minister of Higher Education.

Participants will, through a series of focused high-level pre-scheduled meetings, combine their varied expertise to develop actionable blueprints for leveraging public-private partnerships (PPP) that will incorporate the technological innovations showcased by ambitious ICT entrepreneurs and global solution providers.

“This event is duly prescient of the pressures that the global economy’s information revolution applies to governments in the MENA region,” says John Glassey, CEO of Brains Global, the forum’s organizers and promotors, “…and the participation of these Ministers of Education & ICT at MENA Innovation is critical to leveraging that revolution and to achieve any lasting, inter-sectoral solutions to the challenges that the digital economy brings.”

The respective Ministers and their accompanying delegations will be joined by key stakeholders including, inter-governmental organisations, universities, educationalists and civil society leaders, such as: the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, the German Corporation for International Cooperation, the Euro-Mediterranean-Arab Association for Cooperation and Development, the Libyan Authority for Research, Science and Technology, the Saudi Quality Council, the UAE’s Sharjah Private Education Authority, and the Tatweer Company for Educational Services of Saudi Arabia, along with over 40 top regional universities.

“We are excited to see that enthusiasm for ICT innovation in education is so widely reciprocated across the government and non-government sectors in Middle East and North Africa,” Glassey continued.

In effect, MENA Innovation 2019 forms part of a mutually recognized impetus to measure the divide between the offerings of the region’s educational institutions and the future demands of the global digital economy, analyzing how innovative ICT and those commercial leaders that drive it’s ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ can assist the region’s governments, academic institutions and civil society organizations in bridging the skills gap.

MENA Innovation of 2019 will take place at the five-star Kempinski Hotel & Resort located in the Sultanate capital of Muscat’s vibrant Al Mouj Muscat Waterfront Development.
