Muscat - As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Oman Data Park (ODP), the premier colocation and managed services hosting provider in the Sultanate, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) withRiyada(previously known as The Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development) at a ceremony under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ali bin Masoud bin Ali Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry. The event was held today at the Sindbad Hall in Crowne Plaza.

"An efficient ICT system is critical to business success in today's competitive business environment. We are proud to be able to put our expertise to use and enable local SMEs to run and expand their business. As a company, one of our main aims has been to localise data in Oman and build the local capacity by providing jobs, training and skillsets to Omanis in this important domain. Our tie-up with Riyadais a step in that direction," saidMaqbool Salim Al Wahaibi, General Manager, Oman Data Park.

Under the MOU signed, ODPwill offer Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services to all Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that come under the Riyada umbrella at very special prices. The service will allow the SMEs to outsource their IT needs to ODP and focus on growing their core business, offering them the facility to scale up according to their demand. TheCSR initiative is in continuation with the company's commitment to supportingthe Government in promoting entrepreneurship among young and talented Omanis.The company had signed a similar agreement with Al Raffd Fund last year to provide public cloud services to SMEs.
