Eng. Maqbool Al Wahaibi, CEO, Oman Data Park, was named as Technology Person of the Year at the annual AIWA Awards for Best Performing Companies. HE Dr. Rasheed bin al Safi al Huraibi, Chairman, Oman Tender Board, presented the award to Eng. Al Wahaibi at the red-carpet awards ceremony held at Hotel Sheraton Oman on September 10, 2018.

This year marked the eighth edition of the annual AIWA Awards, instituted by Alam al-Iktisaad Wal A’mal (AIWA), the leading Arabic business publication from United Media Services. Top five best performing companies, based on their performance on select seven financial parameters in the financial year 2017, were felicitated in three different categories. The achievements that went beyond the balance sheet were also recognized through special awards.  

Eng. Al Wahaibi was felicitated for his exemplary services in leading Oman Data park to provide reliable, secure and flexible solutions delivered with unmatched expertise and quality of service. As a part of the executive management and founding team that established Oman Data Park, Eng. Al Wahaibi has been instrumental in developing solutions tailored to address the banks, financial Institutions, oil and gas sector, healthcare, government, education and professional services sectors.

Al Wahaibi on winning the award.

Oman Data Park is the first managed service provider in Oman with a vision to transform the future, where IT services will be available on demand. The first localized cloud service provider in the Sultanate, ODP currently runs three data centres located in KOM, Wattayah, and Duqm. These three are interconnected to provide resilience, interconnectivity of data and business continuity.

ICT colocation, IT-managed services, cloud services and disaster recovery services. Along with the Duqm data centre, the company has also launched the version 2 of its cloud services. They are more enhanced cloud services with a lot of advanced features.
