Muscat-Oman Air is pleased to announce its support as Lead Sponsor for the Omanisation Career Fair (OCF) 2015. The event will be held from 20th-22nd April at the Oman International Exhibition Centre, alongside the Global Higher Education Exhibition. Organised by OITE Trade Fairs under the patronage of the Ministry of Manpower, the event aims to help meet the mounting demand for Omani workers within the Sultanate.

"As the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, and as a major employer in the country, Oman Air is pleased to become the Lead Sponsor of OCF 2015. This important event will showcase the full range of future employment opportunities for students, graduates and those seeking a fresh challenge. As Oman Air continues its current ambitious expansion programme, a significant number of those opportunities will be offered by the national carrier of Oman" commented Rashid Mohammed Al Ghailani, Chief Officer - Human Resource, Oman Air.

He added "Oman Air has been a vocal supporter of the Sultanate's policy of Omanisation since the time it was launched. Furthermore, we are proud of our commitment to providing employment and career development opportunities for Omani citizens - a commitment that sees Omani staff comprise 60 per cent of Oman Air's workforce. We look forward to meeting Oman's future business leaders at OCF 2015".

Oman Air's commitment to Omanisation goes beyond employing talented, qualified and experienced Omani citizens at every level of the company. It has for a number of years sponsored JOBEX, the forerunner of OCF 2015, and has worked with Boeing to run workshops and seminars for young people. These showed that there is a bright future for ambitious, motivated and qualified Omanis within the country's national carrier. In addition, the carrier operates a programme of training for potential pilots who are Omani citizens. This includes financial, insurance and educational support to qualify as a pilot, before starting training with Oman Air. After this, it is expected that the cadet pilots will join Oman Air's flight deck teams. The latest batch of ten Omanis have just graduated from the ENAC flight school in Toulouse, and 13 more will graduate in 18 months' time. Of Oman Air's current total complement of 528 pilots, 240 (or 45.45 per cent) are Omani and the company expects this number to grow significantly over the next few years.  This year alone, Oman Air will be offering up to 900 job openings at various levels to qualified and ambitious Omani candidates.
