Dubai, United Arab Emirates—N.THING, the Seoul-based agri-tech company which entered the UAE market back in 2020 when it partnered with Sarya Holdings to build vertical farm Smart Acres, has announced its participation in this year’s GITEX Future Stars event. Showcasing its award-winning IoT based solution for farming capabilities, N.THING will provide UAE professionals the opportunity to witness firsthand its innovative technology in the industry from October 17 to 20.
Sponsored by the Seoul Business Agency under the Seoul Metropolitan Government in South Korea, N.THING will be showcasing its IoT technology at this year’s GITEX with the aim of enlightening potential buyers and partners in the MENA region around its vertical farm solution. At the exhibition, N.THING will present its ‘CUBE’, a modularized container vertical farm for hydroponic smart farming, which fully controls the growing environment, growth duration, and product quality with IoT technology and dedicated OS (“CUBE OS”). Not only are these CUBES the latest in innovation due to its farming capabilities, but the containers are easy to expand and build upon due to its stackability.
N.THING formally launched operations in the UAE in 2020 after completing its PoC (proof of concept) in Abu Dhabi with Smart Acres, with the mission of improving food security within the United Arab Emirates, developing the country’s farming capabilities, and providing a solution to potential socioeconomic threats such as pandemics and climate limitations the Middle East currently endures. Together the businesses were able to grow four different vegetables, and through this PoC process, they discovered they had the capacity to produce crops of up to 12 tons annually. Growing produce in the region is a challenge given the local climate and landscape, and N.THING is able to provide businesses such as Smart Acres with technology that defies the law of nature and gives them the opportunity to develop plans for food security in the Middle East.
The CEO of N.THING, Leo Kim, shared, “We are delighted to be able to exhibit N.THING’s technology to like-minded innovation seekers at GITEX 2021. Our company has spent years developing our modular containers, and after a successful year working with Smart Acres following our proof of concept stage, we are happy to share what our company has achieved.”
From October 17 to 20, N.THING will be present at GITEX and enlighten potential buyers and partners in MENA regarding its vertical farm solution. To learn more about N.THING’s IoT solution and technology, be sure to attend this year’s GITEX event and visit the agri-tech company’s exhibition stand.
