NEOM, Saudi Arabia: NEOM successfully concluded a four-day gathering of 150 leading companies from across the world’s design and construction industry. The meeting took guests through NEOM’s ambitious vision and plans that support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman’s directive to build a better future.
Attendees visited the NEOM Logistics Park, which includes new construction villages that support laborer communities up to 30,000 as well as offices, warehouses, and construction service establishments. The 12 km2 Park will be one of the world’s largest temporary logistics centers and serve all future phases of construction in the coming years.
“NEOM is committed to the future of design and construction and positively disrupting the way projects are delivered, leaving a lasting industry legacy. The scale and complexity of this project requires strong partnerships between NEOM and the entire industry value chain to make NEOM’s vision a reality,” said Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM.
Commenting on the gathering and the immediate and long-term opportunities for local and international contractors, Brett Smythe, Chief Projects Officer at NEOM, said: “The response we saw confirms there is extremely strong industry interest in what we are trying to achieve here, not just because of the unprecedented size of the project, but also because of the way we are executing it. We are serious about building NEOM in a completely different way and are steering the industry toward technological advancement, greater innovation, and efficiency. Partners who work with us will benefit from our business-friendly operating model, a positive contracting approach and can leverage our base logistics infrastructure. Our teams are already delivering – and we’re open for business.”
A cornerstone of Vision 2030 that is driving economic diversification in the Kingdom, NEOM is a project of unique scale, aiming to contribute 380,000 jobs and SAR 180 billion to domestic GDP by 2030.
