Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Mowgli Mentoring and the Dulani Business Centre concluded their first Entrepreneur Mentoring Program in Saudi Arabia with a graduation ceremony held at the Centre for the 18 program participants and supporters. The Founder and Chairman of Mowgli Mentoring Tony Bury, the CEO of Dulani Eng. Ali Alsayyar, the entrepreneurs, mentors and Mowgli Facilitators amongst other guests celebrated the gains and impact realized from the 9 mentoring relationships developed over an 8 month mentoring period which supported the selected promising entrepreneurs from the Dulani Business Centre, which was funded by the Saudi Credit and Savings Bank (SCSB). The evening provided clear evidence on the impact of mentoring as a key component of human capacity development and driver for economic and social change in Saudi Arabia.
Through its award winning methodology, Mowgli provides a supportive mentoring framework for mentors to empower entrepreneurs to unlock their potential and seize new opportunities thereby enabling them to further scale up their businesses and develop themselves as leaders.
During the event, Tony Bury commented that. “We urgently need to create and empower successful entrepreneurs and embrace new leadership models. Unfortunately, it is 10 times harder for an entrepreneur to be successful in the MENA region than it is for example in Europe and/or the US. However, I am glad to see the entrepreneurship push in Saudi Arabia and the drive to develop sustainable human capital through mentoring.”
Mowgli CEO Kathleen Bury commented: “The early feedback from the program showcases that the entrepreneurs and mentors have had successful 8-month mentoring relationships resulting in the desired personal and business growth. We sincerely congratulate them for this. It has been a pleasure working with the Dulani Business Centre, SCSB, McKinsey and the other project partners. Their drive to embed accredited mentoring as part of the program as a key component and starting point to developing an entrepreneur-serving ecosystem in Saudi Arabia is exemplary. We look forward to building upon this success to further drive entrepreneurial and economic growth in Saudi Arabia with them and other partners”

About Mowgli Mentoring
Mowgli Mentoring is a not-for-profit organisation driving inclusive economic and social change in the Middle East and Africa. Our unique, award-winning methodology provides a supportive framework which empowers entrepreneurs, women and youth to unlock their potential and seize new opportunities.
Over the past decade Mowgli has worked with philanthropists, and local and international governmental and private sector partners to provide mentoring across 14 countries in the Middle East and North Africa. We have trained more than a thousand mentors who have supported entrepreneurs from all sectors. They create and safeguard jobs, producing a significant economic and social return on investment. We are now also expanding our operations across Africa, and in addition to remaining focused on entrepreneurs, we will have an increased focus on women and youth as key additional beneficiaries of our programmes.
Mowgli Mentoring’s methodology supports long-term professional and personal development. Our volunteer mentors are trained to listen, guide and inspire. Mentors themselves testify as to how the mentoring process also helps their own development. We systematically match mentors with mentees, and provide structured support as they co-develop long-term, trust-based relationships. Our approach is a practical and sustainable way of developing human capital to the benefit of the whole community.
As a recognised leader in the field of mentoring, we were awarded the European Quality Award by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council in 2016 for our programme syllabus.
Mowgli’s specific mentoring programs provide a day-to-day lifeline for entrepreneurs striving to grow their businesses. In particular they underpin private-sector-driven economic growth and job-creation. Our programs also help women and young people to develop the leadership skills necessary to help their societies prosper. Mentoring is essential for sustainable human capital development.
