Mirage Leisure & Development and WSP in the Middle East are proud to announce the achievement of 23 million working hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) at the Address Residences Jumeriah Resort project in Dubai.
This milestone has been reached through the hard work and commitment of the team and strong, visible leadership by the management. The outstanding achievement is even more impressive given the engineering complexities of the project, which included hoisting a 650-tonne skybridge to the top of the 77-storey structure.
Andreas Schoppe, Project Director at Mirage Leisure & Development, said: "We are thrilled to have collaborated with WSP Middle East to construct this exceptional milestone for the Address Residences Jumeriah Resort project. By bringing WSP Middle East’s world-class Health & Safety acumen to the fore, this has enabled the client, contractor, and consultant teams to deliver a high-quality product for Al Ain Properties – the developer of the project – and this has raised the bar for regional and international best practices when to comes to mitigating potential hazards and challenges on complex sites.”
Tom Hoban, Project Director, WSP in the Middle East, said: “To achieve a milestone like this requires a remarkable Health & Safety effort from everybody involved. With strong support from higher management, along with a robust focus on leadership, teamwork, cohesive risk assessment, and clearly defined communications, WSP Middle East managed to influence and embed the robust Health & Safety culture required to maximize site safety. Address Residences Jumeriah Resort’s tower is a distinctive addition to Dubai’s incredible skyline and we are proud to be making a significant contribution to the city’s Health & Safety landscape as a leader in the construction and engineering realm.”
Once completed, Address Residences Jumeriah Resort will feature a 217-hotel room and suite five-star Address Hotel, 443 branded serviced apartments, and 478 residential units together with spa, high-end food and beverage outlets, and extensive landscaped areas over a large podium and extended ground floor level resort landscape environment that connects directly to JBR beachfront. Joint at the upper levels, and topped with rooftop VIP Gazebos overlooking a bar and the world’s highest infinity pool, Address Residences Jumeriah Resort will offer breathtaking views across notable Dubai landmarks such as Jumeirah Beach Residence, Palm Jumeriah, and Bluewaters Island.
WSP in the Middle East is the lead consultant, Architect of Record, Structural Engineer, Security Consultant, and Fire & life Safety consultant for the project. The project was designed by Killa Architectural Design and Ramboll Group is the MEP Engineer. Address Residences Jumeriah Resort is scheduled for completion in late 2020.
