Abu Dhabi: Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital is the first private hospital in Abu Dhabi to achieve the prestigious Clinical Care Program Certification by the Joint Commission International for its Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) Program. The program specialises in the management of patients suffering from various types of heart attacks and coronary artery disease.
Joe Hazel, Chief Operating Officer of Mediclinic in Abu Dhabi, said in a statement: “This achievement is testament to the excellence of our cardiac care service that is practised to the highest of international standards. We are proud to say that our Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) program at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital underwent a rigorous certification process by US-based Joint Commission International (JCI) by successfully fulfilling all certification requirements.” He added: “This certification distinguishes Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital as a provider of heart attack services of the highest standards and this new certification is confirmation of the patient-centred quality care provided to our patients.”
The cardiac program focuses on reducing time of cardiac catheterisation, ensuring that all evidence-based treatment is provided in a timely manner while educating patients about their condition throughout their hospital stay.”
The Acute Coronary Syndrome program is operated by a multidisciplinary team consisting of highly trained interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, a dedicated catheterisation laboratory nursing team, and highly qualified experts representing the various areas involved in providing safe and ethical care.
Dr. Mohammed Andron, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, Head of Cardiology and Cardiac Catheterisation Unit at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital said: “The program follows the most up-to-date international standards to ascertain that our patients are receiving appropriate quality treatments, may it be surgical or non-surgical.” He added: “Our centre is equipped with advanced instruments and technological innovation, enabling us to perform various types of cardiac procedures with excellent outcomes.”
