Dubai, UAE, 11 February, 2016: The 8th edition of the Marketing to Women drew to a close at the TAJ Hotel in Dubai on February 8th 2016. This years theme, Engaging the multiple facets of the Arab woman, highlighted the importance of recognizing the purchasing power of women in the GCC region.
Industry professionals gained a unique insight into crafting strategic communication pieces and maximizing marketing output. Alexandre Hawari, Co-CEO of Mediaquest, said of the events success, An event like M2W is essential to bring together marketing stakeholders and discuss how the profound changes in womens socio-economic status and the seismic impact of digital media is affecting their brand relationships. He added, We were very pleased with the turnout and the caliber of the attendees, who all contributed an immense amount to the overall success of the event.
The event, which garnered unsurpassed interest amongst marketing industry heavyweights, has set the gold standard for marketing conferences in the UAE with its strategic location and meticulously planned keynote addresses. In addition, research insights provided by Nielsen the day before each session helped participants to familiarize themselves with the topics in advance.
Marketing to Women 2016 welcomed over 250 eager participants and 30 speakers from renowned international brands, including senior marketing practitioners, CEOs, CMOs, managing directors, marketing directors, vice-presidents, brand directors, strategic planners, public relations professionals, product managers, creative directors, consumer insight stakeholders, research directors and decision makers.
Among key speakers was world renowned female trailblazer Dee Caffari, MBE, Record Breaking Sailor and SCA Team Ambassador, who shared her unique insights on her recent quest with an all-female crew from Team SCA at the Volvo Ocean Race. Other keynote speakers included Esther Lopez from Henkel Middle East, and Rishi Saxena, Emerging Markets Measurement Lead at Facebook, among others.
Christina Ioannidis, CEO, Aquitude and Chair, M2W, said, This years concept was centered on the changing face of the modern Arab woman, which is why we titled it Engaging the multiple facets of the Arab woman. We succeeded in dispelling traditional stereotypes about Arab females and defying conventional attitudes about the Arab womans place as a consumer and in society. Women these days arent necessarily housewives, nor do all Arab women aspire to that ideal anymore. Some of the highest net-worth consumers in this region are women who are mothers, businesswomen, wives and homemakers, she added.
Marketing to Women 2016 was sponsored by Digital Media Services, Middle East Media Services, Al Futtaim Motors - Toyota, TAJ Hotel, Phoenix and Rotana Media Services.
