Amman: Underlining its pioneering initiatives aimed at providing a clean environment, Markazia Toyota participated in a workshop titled ‘The Private Sector’s Role in Preserving the Environment and Supporting Sustainable Development Plans (Corporate Social Responsibility and its Impact on Environmental Development)’. Organized by the National Center for Environmental Justice, the workshop was held on 10 and 11 February - under the patronage of H.E. Minister of Environment, Dr. Saleh Kharabsheh.

Representing Markazia Toyota, Managing Director of Markazia, Nadim Haddad, attended the first discussion session where he spoke about the positive impact private sector organizations and companies can create by focusing on the environment and eco-friendly practices. Moreover, Haddad highlighted Toyota’s local and global efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by innovating and advancing hybrid technologies, to ultimately foster a community wherein individuals, nature and vehicles coexist in harmony.

Haddad stated, “Protecting and caring for the environment in which we live - and in which future generations will also live - is a core value we come together as a team to fulfill. We’re pleased to have been invited by the National Center for Environmental Justice to participate in this workshop, which motivates us to continue supporting initiatives that have a positive long-term impact on individuals, while joining and volunteering in programs that enable us to inspire other local private sector companies, especially within the automotive field.”

Markazia Toyota has made several notable nationwide contributions in the area of environmental conservation - in collaboration with multiple government entities such as the Greater Amman Municipality and Ministry of Environment, as well as other NGOs. These activities included launching the Wasfi Al Tal Forest cleanup project, an anti-littering initiative, numerous forest cleanup drives and educational campaigns for youth, in addition to designing streets that are suitable for walking and cycling.
