Al Khoud Water, a leading Omani mineral water brand, has taken delivery of a fleet of Isuzu Trucks – the world’s number one truck brand – to help strengthen the reach of its increasingly popular product range in the Sultanate.
Global Pioneer LLC, which produces and distributes the reputable water brand, has bolstered its delivery fleet with a set of five all-new, 2022 model Isuzu trucks that represent the transportation vehicle of choice for the FMCG industry in Oman and the wider world.
The deal, based on a long-term lease agreement, was made possible by VLC, the vehicle leasing arm of OTE Group -- the exclusive distributor of Isuzu Trucks in the Sultanate.
At a handover ceremony held recently in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Ali, General Manager, Global Pioneer LLC, the brand new Isuzu fleet made for a colourful sight. Featuring closed metal bodies customized for mineral water distribution, all five trucks were emblazoned with the brand colours of Al Khoud Water combined with other striking graphics.
Global Pioneer LLC’s model of choice was the Isuzu NPR 85 – a workhorse well-known across the world for its durability and strength. Drawn from Isuzu’s acclaimed N-Series of trucks, the NPR 85 is equipped with powertrains that maximize performance with high torque output and fuel efficient engines.
In the Sultanate, the NPR range is an enduring favourite with transporters of consumer goods given the challenges of accessing many remote villages and towns that are connected only via unpaved roads. A powerful 3-lt turbo engine offers 130 HP at 2,800 rpm, enabling a fully-loaded truck to perform commendably even with a maximum gross vehicle weight of 6.5 tons. Adding to the overall durability of the NPR 85 is the outstanding axle capacity and high tensile steel frame of the chassis.
Other features that attest to the Isuzu NPR 85’s popular appeal are its highly rigid cab with reinforced cabin doors, anti-lock brake systems for active safety, multi-reflector halogen head lamps and ELR 3-point system seatbelts to ensure driver safety.
“It was a pleasure to have Global Pioneer LLC reach out to OTE for its fleet expansion. Isuzu prides on providing unmatched value along with significant benefits when leased from VLC, our in-house leasing agency,” commented Mr. Malay Saha, Vice President – OTE Group.
