As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the Khimji Training Institute (KTI) organized a seminar on effective parenting for the parents and teachers of the Philippine school, Muscat, recently.
Commenting on the initiative Mr. Nadeem Ahmed, General Manager, KTI said, “It is an essential part of our goals at the KTI to go beyond business and endeavour to improve the quality of life for the people of Oman. Such events give us the opportunity to also equip individuals and parents with the necessary tools for raising well-rounded children.”
Mr. Ahmed put together an interactive concourse on the stresses and pressures parents and children face in today’s highly competitive world. Parents were encouraged to voice their views on the daily challenges they encounter and discuss ways to successfully overcome them. During the seminar participants also discussed the art of listening attentively in order to communicate effectively at a child’s level, and ways to establish a rapport between parent and child.
Throughout the workshop, parents were reminded of the importance of the message, “Understand your child better today to have a stronger bond tomorrow.”
In addition, they also gained invaluable insight into topics such as the theory of Transaction Analysis and psychological ego stages of a person.
Norlinda Y Cura, Principal of the Philippine School, Muscat thanked Nadeem Ahmed for the inspiring and insightful workshop. “The seminar is sure to help parents appreciate their children better and take into account their thought processes as growing, developing individuals.”
