The event topics highlights latest guidelines in COVID-19 management, treatment, variants and vaccines update
Dubai: The 5th version of Infectious Diseases Conference is kicking off today in Dubai, the three days physical presence and virtual event organized by Maarefah Management, and will welcome top notch experts and clinicians in the field of Infectious Diseases, to discuss latest guidelines and updates, and to follow up on recent pandemic scientific findings, and It is designed to provide healthcare professionals involved in infectious diseases with up-to-date and evidence-based clinical data to highlight key solutions to the latest challenges.
Dr. Badreyya Al Harmi, Consultant in Public Health from the UAE, Vice President, Emirates Public Health Association, UAE, said: “The 5th annual UAE ID week is an excellent gathering for the experts in the field of public health and infectious diseases. I believe this year the congress will focusing on key aspects that have emerged in the area of infectious diseases in recent years and we will have several important topics to be address.”
“As we are still under the effect of the COVID 19 pandemic which represents one of the most stressful events in recent times worldwide, that poses a major challenge to social, economic, and the psychological resources of the population. Thus, it is very important to highlight the effect of the pandemic on mental health of healthcare workers, as these groups have been particularly affected. A number of studies have recorded the prevalence of various mental health problems faced by HCWs and several factors can be contributes to these mental health burden among people working in the health sector . We have to give more attention for the Early assessment of HCWs’ mental health and identifying the underlying causes of emotional pain, , as it is useful and necessary to accelerate creation of distress mitigating interventions and creating resilience in the health care industry, either during or in the absence of a crisis, is a responsibility shared between HCWs and their organizations.” Added Dr. Badreyya Al Harmi.
This congress will feature interactive lectures, clinical case discussions, polls and Q/A sessions in a hybrid format (virtually and face to face ) to provide a comprehensive review of current issues and recent advances in selected ID topics, including: COVID-19 pandemic updates, latest pediatric and adult immunization guidelines, infectious diseases diagnostics, HIV, emerging infections, Antimicrobial stewardship programs, Infection prevention and Control, and the topics will focus on latest guidelines in COVID-19 management, COVID-19 treatment , variants and vaccines update, mental health of healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, global health governance in the mid of epidemics and pandemics, latest immunization guidelines, post COVID-19 syndrom: Latest updates, variants and vaccines: Evolution of both virus and testing, surveillance of COVID-19 mutants, and other topics.
