Trade show to highlight latest technologies in animal production, convene key stakeholders in livestock management from across region

Abu Dhabi-UAE: The inaugural edition of EuroTier Middle East, the world’s leading trade show for animal husbandry and livestock management, will take place under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority.
The event’s organising committee made the announcement today at a press conference at Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The press conference was attended by His Excellency Saeed Al Bahri Salem Al Ameri, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Agriculture & Food Safety Authority, His Excellency Rashed Mohammed Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Event Organizing Committee, His Excellency Sultan Saeed Al Jaberi, Food CEO of Elite Agro and Managing Director of Marmum Dairy , and Fadi Saad, Managing Director of Multibridge Event Management, and the organising partner of EuroTier Middle East.
Set to run from 2 to 4 September 2019 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), the event will draw the participation of more than 120 exhibitors and 150 companies from 16 countries, including Saudi Arabia, which will be the country of honour. It will feature a host of activities, including a first-of-its-kind sheep and goat beauty contest, live auctions of foreign cattle breeds and an extensive hosted buyer programme
Held in strategic partnership with Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, EuroTier Middle East will highlight the latest technologies in animal production with the aim of contributing to the development of local animal husbandry, and providing a dedicated platform for promoting investments in the UAE’s self-sufficiency and food security. The three-day event will convene a wide variety of stakeholders in livestock management and development, such as animal breeders, farm owners, equipment suppliers, food and animal product producers, and veterinary service providers from across the region.
On the second day of the event, EuroTier Middle East International Conference will convene leading international experts and specialists in animal production and biosecurity to highlight the current state and future perspectives of the modern dairy industry and animal production in arid areas including the UAE. The packed agenda will also comprise a series of panel discussions and workshops with the participation of leading local and international experts, covering diverse topics related to animal farming, such as breeding programmes and transport services, climate technology and livestock environmental protection.
His Excellency Saeed Al Bahri Salem Al Ameri, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, said: “Hosting the inaugural edition of EuroTier Middle East in Abu Dhabi reflects the importance that our wise leadership assigns to the livestock sector that plays a crucial role in supporting the government's efforts to achieve food security. The event will go a long way in enhancing the productivity of this vital sector through bringing the farming and animal production community under one roof to exchange know-how, explore the latest developments in the field and transfer of knowledge, skills and expertise to local breeders.”
He added: “We had many reasons to attract this high-caliber global event to Abu Dhabi due to its important role in enriching the knowledge, building the capacity and enhancing the skills of local animal breeders through bringing them closer to international best practices and latest techniques. This will help advance the local livestock sector through promoting modern breeding processes and improving local production in line with our continued focus on the development of this vital sector. What sets EuroTier Middle East apart from similar exhibitions in the region is its focus not only on traders and suppliers, but also on farm owners and animal breeders directly. This will particularly benefit local breeders through transferring knowledge, improving production, which will, in turn, enhance the country’s food security. in a nutshell, EuroTier Middle East aims to become the largest gathering of its kind in the region.

With a strong focus on farm owners and animal breeders, EuroTier Middle East will feature a unique array of activities aimed at supporting animal production in the country and the wider GCC region. Visitors can also avail significant discounts on the products displayed, and receive comprehensive insight into the latest innovations in the farming and agriculture industries. The event will also include animal breeding contests and live auctions of local and foreign breeds and winners will be presented Camel and Animal Breeding Excellence Award.
EuroTier Middle East will feature eight live demos of breeding and production techniques covering livestock and food operation tracking systems, steam cattle sterilisation machine, the best varieties of livestock adapted to the local environment, the latest equipment and tools used in animal breeding, animal shed cooling platforms and systems, direct incubation and industrial cooling system for hatching and poultry farming and advanced equipment for caring livestock in open fields and ensuring its hygiene.
Among the key highlights of the event is an animal breeding contest that will be held across several categories including meat quality and milk production for sheep and goats, which will be attended by more than 300 Emirati and GCC animal breeders. The milk production contest for sheep and goats will be conducted in 6 main categories and four sub categories.
During its three-day run, the exhibition is set to attract more than 5,000 visitors from across the region. Furthermore, leading experts, scientists and researchers from local and international universities, institutes and research centres will present research papers and scientific studies and conduct specialised sessions addressing key issues related to animal breeding and production.
