IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) announced it is releasing this year’s round of CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) scholarships for students. Selected students will receive a three-year IMA membership and entrance for both CMA exams. The program works in collaboration with select premier universities whose professors and faculty nominate their most deserving students.
Through this prestigious scholarship initiative, IMA is working closely with universities around the world to identify the best and brightest students, and in turn help them to gain the skills they need to launch a successful career in finance and accounting.
“With digital disruption transforming every single sector, we find bridging the skills gap in the finance and accounting profession to be more imperative than ever before,” said Hanadi Khalife, IMA senior director of ME & India operations. “Our global collaboration with the education sector is an essential aspect of our contribution specifically when it comes to identifying talented young students who can benefit from our scholarship program.”
With a global network of some of the top finance and accounting professionals, IMA is continuously driving insight into the profession through research and high-level collaborations to identify and provide critical in-demand skills. As CMAs, young students can go on to becoming accounting or finance specialists who work in the areas of financial planning, analysis, and management decision-making.
“We are very passionate about arming the next generation of finance professionals with the skills they need to not only jumpstart their careers but to also create value for the organizations they will represent one day,” added Khalife. “If recent times have taught us anything, it is that CMAs are integral to organizational survival and eventual success, and can deliver strategic value in a technologically enhanced and increasingly automated workplace.”
Amer Abdul Hadi Bin Soufan Al Ahbabi, Federal Government of UAE, a recent graduate of the CMA program mentioned, “The knowledge I gained through the CMA certification helped me make long-term professional decisions that are not only legal but also ethical. The CMA certification supported my dream of designing and issuing my first patent.”
Scholarship awardees will receive a comprehensive package of benefits, including:
- IMA membership for three years
- Entrance fee to the CMA program
- Exam Support Package – an assessment tool that can help assess the content covered on the CMA exam
- Registration fees for both CMA exam parts
- Wiley CMAexcel test bank access for up to two years for both CMA exam parts
IMA’s globally recognized CMA program is a relevant assessment of advanced accounting and financial management knowledge in critical areas such as financial planning, analysis, control, and decision support. IMA’s CMA program incorporates on-the-job knowledge and skills that the professionals need in this changing profession – now and in the future.
