Dubai, UAE – Hospitality by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the region’s leading culinary provider, put up a delectable showcase at the annual Emirates Salon Culinaire, internationally-acclaimed culinary competition hosted at Gulfood 2018, winning 37 accolades including the title of ‘Best effort by an individual establishment’ for the 8th consecutive year.

A core team of 44 chefs from DWTC participated in the five-day event, demonstrating their culinary skills across multiple categories including Five-course Gourmet Dinner, Emirati Cuisine - Practical Cookery, An Arabian Feast, Ice carving, and Pastry Showpiece. The chefs won 12 gold medals, 11 silver, 14 bronze and 8 merit awards. Noteworthy mentions go to Chef Taha Boudhib who secured a gold medal with distinction for his impeccable presentation in the Cake Decoration - Practical by Masterbaker category, and Chef Jayson Cueto who won 8 medals including 4 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze, and 1 merit.

The Emirates Salon Culinaire, is a celebrated culinary competition, which is evaluated by a panel of 30 international experts and mandated by the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS). The annual contest, featuring a range of different categories, gauges gastronomic skills of professional chefs from across the region.

Hospitality by DWTC has witnessed year-on-year growth in business and some of the team’s biggest contracts to date in off-site catering include the Etihad F1 Grand Prix, the Dubai Tour, and the Dubai Airshow.

With over 148 chefs from 19 different nationalities and 5 continents, DWTC’s ultramodern kitchen, spanning over 3,650m² of working area, allows for full in-house production and has been awarded the highest Dubai Municipality rating every year since opening in 2003. With 35 years of market experience and recently installed state-of-the-art equipment across the catering operation, the kitchen has a capacity output of 20,000 daily covers.
