Doha, Qatar: HEC Paris, ranked number 3 worldwide in Executive Education by the Financial Times in 2019, is to welcome HR professionals to attend a dedicated HR Knowledge Lab session on ‘Judgement in Strategic Decisions’ led by Professor Olivier Sibony.

The HR Knowledge Lab session, held in collaboration with the Qatar HR Forum and The OD Company, will take place on September 25 from 5.30pm-7pm at the HEC Paris in Qatar campus in Tornado Tower. It will examine the impact of decision theory and behavioral sciences into executive strategic decision making.

Professor Sibony is a renowned consultant and writer specializing in strategy, strategic decision making and the organization of decision processes. “Making strategic decisions is a key executive role but we need to understand the theory and science behind the process,” explained Professor Sibony. “Decision theory and behavioral sciences shed some light on this question. In this session, we will explore some of the insights they provide, and their implications for decision makers.”

The Knowledge Lab session will enable Qatar’s HR professionals to garner, first-hand, keen insights into executive decision-making from one of the most qualified experts in the sector. Professor Sibony’s research interests center on the effect of biases and heuristics – mental shortcuts that allow people to solve problems and make strategic judgments quickly and efficiently. “These are essential attributes for Qatar’s HR professionals as they strive to assist their organizations in meeting the human development goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030,” explained Professor Sibony.
