Cairo, Egypt – In line with the Egyptian Government's efforts to preserve the environment and natural resources, and stemming from a belief in the importance of shifting to clean energy, Hassan Allam Holding Company (HAH) signed a cooperation protocol with El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company to replace part of its fleet with electric vehicles in an initiative that may be the first of its kind in the Egyptian market.

Eng. Amr Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Holding Company, said: "Throughout our 85-year presence in Egypt, we have been supporting and encouraging all development and sustainability initiatives to provide future generations with the natural and economic resources they deserve. The Ministry of Public Business Sector has launched an initiative to replace old vehicles with newer models that run on clean energy. We decided to follow suit and replace our old vehicles with electric vehicles through a cooperation protocol with El Nasr Automotive Industry. This initiative will contribute to Hassan Allam Holding's sustainability efforts and support El Nasr Automotive return to being one of the oldest national companies whose brand has been the pride of the Egyptian industry for several generations. Hassan Allam Holding will also work together with the top electric vehicles charging station manufacturers to lay the ground for the infrastructure needed for the transition."

Allam added: "Hassan Allam Holding, as one of the oldest leading private sector institutions in engineering, construction, and integrated projects, is working to present a successful Egyptian corporate model that adapts international best practices with a responsibility towards society. We seek through our strategy and ambitious plan to turn all our projects green by using clean and renewable energy, which comes in line with the Egyptian Government's Live Green initiative. The current global trend of shifting towards electric vehicles is fuelled by their unique ability to cut greenhouse gases, reduce dependence on hydrocarbons as energy sources, and achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs) and Egypt's Vision 2030."
