Iconic American luxury brand debuts with Pre Spring 2014 Collection

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, - Indulge in the timeless elegance of HALSTON HERITAGE as the brand launched its first ever store in the UAE on February 14th. Focused on bringing to life the Heritage of HALSTON, the collection takes inspiration from the glamorous, quintessentially feminine, and refined sensuality of the HALSTON era. The 129 square metre store in the new fashion district at Mall of the Emirates is the second stand-alone store to be opened outside of the United States, after the first launched in Kuwait in August 2013, to much success.

The premiere collection in the UAE is the highly-anticipated Pre-Spring '14 Collection, which sees silks, jacquards and ultrasuedes crafted into sophisticated yet youthful pieces of ready-to-wear, cocktail dresses and evening gowns. The store also carries a full range of handbags and footwear.

The HALSTON HERITAGE Spring '14 collection will follow, offering iconic HALSTON styles such as the Shirtdress, the Kaftan, the Jumpsuit and the Hobo Bag as well as the one-shoulder gown re-worked to fit the modern wardrobe. The collection intersperses pastel shades and jewel tones with neutrals and features printed silks, lace insets and eyelet embroidery.

The store interior treats clients to legendary founder Roy Halston Frowick's timeless and minimalist style, borrowing elements from his life and personal home, giving an experience completely unique to HALSTON HERITAGE. The H within an H icon, derived from the original HALSTON logo that was created in the late 1960's, makes a dominant graphic statement on the vast glass façade and as an interior light box installation.

Known for his love of the ballet, hanging fixtures inspired by ballet barres appear throughout the store. The celebrated floating staircase from his Manhattan apartment is reimagined as a shoe display, while the handbag collection is showcased on a wall inspired by the vast intricate inter-architectural squares of his home. HALSTON-inspired illustrations designed by renowned artist, Bil Donovan, flank the walls, and a number of mannequins displayed throughout the store reflect the original theatrical and emotional poses for which HALSTON so famously became known.

Finished with smooth amber bronze fixtures, organic Havana wood flooring, soft lighting and plays on texture throughout the store, The HALSTON HERITAGE debut at Mall of the Emirates defines a modern yet timeless sophistication.

Founded in the 1960's by Roy Halston Frowick, the HALSTON legacy spans decades and continues to influence the fashion world today.   Once noted as 'the premier fashion designer in all of America', HALSTON has been loved and worn by such discerning fashion icons as Elizabeth Taylor, Bianca Jagger and Lauren Bacall.  Today, with Chairman & CEO Ben Malka, an industry veteran at the helm, HALSTON HERITAGE has evolved into an approachable luxury brand associated with modern style icons such as Gisele Bundchen and Halle Berry, among many others.

HALSTON HERITAGE has been brought to the Middle East through a partnership with Majid Al Futtaim Fashion, the fashion retailing arm of Majid Al Futtaim Ventures. The partnership will result in the widespread expansion of the brand across the GCC and Levant region, introducing its collections to the Middle East consumer through stand-alone stores.

ABOUT HALSTON
Roy Halston Frowick was the creator of luxury American fashion, whose ground-breaking designs still influence and inspire us today. Founded in the 1960's, the HALSTON label took the fashion industry by storm. Originally known for his innovation in millinery, Halston used his signature materials of jersey, cashmere and suede to reinvent the jumpsuit, the shirtdress, and the classic caftan, permanently leaving his mark on fashion. The 1970's and the era of Studio 54 became synonymous with Halston's designs. Soon after, he was named "the premier fashion designer in America" by Newsweek. His strong connection to pop culture was evident through his friends and clients, which included Andy Warhol, Bianca Jagger, Elizabeth Taylor and Anjelica Huston. Halston went on to create one of the best-selling fragrances of all time in his signature tear-drop shaped perfume bottle designed by Elsa Peretti.  Halston created strong codes that are quintessential to the brand even to this day, as a new team of innovators continue to evolve the HALSTON legacy through the HALSTON HERITAGE collection. Under the vision of new Chairman and CEO Ben Malka, an industry veteran, today HALSTON HERITAGE is an approachable luxury lifestyle brand - mixing legacy codes with a modern edge to create an effortless women's collection of ready-to-wear, dresses, handbags, footwear and small leather goods. The new HALSTON HERITAGE is carried by some of the world's most formidable retailers including Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Net-A-Porter and Harvey Nichols, and as of 2013, the first HALSTON HERITAGE stores and the brand's first digital flagship at www.HALSTON.com.
