Sharjah, UAE:- Cinépolis Cinemas, the largest movie exhibitor in Latin America and the third largest in the world, has brought its globally recognized experiences to the United Arab Emirates at a premium 10-screen multiplex in Oasis Mall, Sharjah. The new theater is the most recent addition to Cinépolis Cinemas’ expanding global profile, which carries fascinating viewing experiences to film lovers delivered through state-of-the-art audiovisual technologies in a comfortable and facility-rich environment.
Commenting on the much-anticipated opening, Ashish Shukla, CEO of Cinépolis Cinemas, stated: “The core of our philosophy is a passion for the big screen experience, and we have set out to build a product and experience that customers will be happy about and would come back for.”
The new theater is conveniently located on the 2nd floor of the easily accessible Oasis Mall in Sharjah, and features 10 screens in three formats: Junior, Macro and Premium, welcoming guests daily between 2 pm and 12 am.
Formats for Everyone
Designed with families in mind, the internationally acclaimed and colorful Junior auditorium is the ideal destination for a family movie night, with a range of seating options and play facilities for children, including bean-bag seating, a large slide, and a ball pit.
“We’re aware that parents are usually reluctant to take their children to movie theaters, as it’s challenging to control a child’s behavior for the entire duration of a film, and we therefore designed the Junior experience to guarantee a fun and guilty-free movie night for all family members,” says Shukla. The Junior auditorium offers a welcoming experience to audiences in different age groups, who will enjoy the superb sound quality of the Dolby 7.1 surround sound system, and the high definition 2K projection that brings your favorite blockbusters to life.
The Macro screens at the new multiplex offer a considerably larger format with seats for up to 269 guests and double the size of the average movie theater screen. Macro guests will get to enjoy a lifelike experience through 2K projection, the Dolby Atmos surround system, a silver screen, and a visually outstanding 3D experience.
Premium guests at Cinépolis Cinemas will enjoy an experience that is every bit as comfortable as it is captivating, with reclining Deluxe, Premium seating options as well as recliner and electric recliner alternatives. The engrossing view of the screen from the comfort of the seats is complemented with immersive audiovisual technologies to create a refined moviegoing experience.
Food & Beverage
Guests of Cinépolis Cinemas at Oasis Mall, Sharjah, will be able to enjoy a range of premium and delicious movie treats, including buttered popcorn, nachos and hotdogs from the concessions counter. Or, they can opt for a full menu of gourmet snacks from the speciality coffee shop ‘Coffee Tree’. Fan favourites include the ever-so-popular dynamite shrimp, edamame, chicken popcorn, samosas and crêpes.
The opening in Sharjah also coincides with the launch of Cinépolis new website and mobile application, available for Android and iOS under the name Cinépolis Gulf. The platforms provide guests with a user-friendly interface enabling them to book the latest movies in advance, facilitating a contactless experience with no waiting time.
Health & Safety Commitment
All procedures and operations at Cinépolis Cinemas have been updated in compliance with local and international regulations in light of the COVID-19 crisis. The safety of guests, staff and vendors remains the foremost priority, and Cinépolis Cinemas management has taken a number of measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable moviegoing experience, including:

Cinépolis Cinemas in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)
Cinépolis Cinemas have created a joint venture with the Dubai-based Al Tayer to build and operate cinemas across the GCC region. In the GCC, the international chain opened its first theater in Bahrain in January 2019, followed by four theaters in Oman, in May, September, November and December of the same year.
In Saudi Arabia, Al Tayer Group and Cinépolis have partnered with Al Hokair Group, a leading hospitality and entertainment operator in the MENA region, to set up movie theaters in 15 major cities across the country.
