The contribution will be specifically allocated towards the reclamation works of East Sitra area prior to the commencement of actual construction works.

UAE's contribution in this project comes within a grant offered by the UAE to Bahrain in 2013 as part of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) development program for Bahrain. The UAE Government offered Bahrain a grant of AED9.19 billion (US$2.5 billion) towards achieving social and economic prosperity for the people of Bahrain.
