Dubai: The Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT), presented its second annual forum focusing on the role of financial technology and innovation on 23 February in Dubai. This specialist sector forum will spotlight how treasury departments are adapting to harnessing fintech, embracing the metaverse and looking at the impact of crypto currencies.
The one-day event, chaired by ACT Chief Executive, Caroline Stockmann, was held at the Ritz-Carlton JBR, and includes high-level keynotes and specialist panels drawn from the ACT’s Middle East network of senior treasurers and finance professionals.
Ms Stockmann said: “Interest and participation in ACT events in the UAE has grown significantly during recent years. Even during the pandemic, we were able to maintain our activities which reflects on the value we provide and the unique opportunities events, such as the Technology and Innovation Forum, offer.”
The agenda for the ACT’s technology forum includes interactive discussions and case studies, focusing on cash management, digital capital markets, digital currencies, the metaverse and beyond. Speakers include Misha Hamin, CEO and Co-founder DeepDive Dubai, and Alex Chehade, Executive Director and General Manager for Binance, the world’s biggest bitcoin exchange and altcoin crypto exchange.
The ACT also hosts the annual Middle East Treasury Summit, now in its 14th year, with the next event taking place on 24-25 October later this year. The most recent summit held in Dubai back in September ‘22, attracted more than 640 delegates from the region and 60+ speakers.
