Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the UAE’s largest healthcare network, and part of the PureHealth Group – the UAE’s largest integrated healthcare platform, is set to host the 17th edition of the annual SEHA International Pediatric Conference (SIPC) from the 10th - 12th of February 2023 at the Rosewood Hotel, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The three-day conference will cover a spectrum of topics featuring the latest advances in pediatric care and research delivered by an expert panel of local and international faculty with several decades of experience at leading pediatric institutes from across the world. The event will also serve as an excellent platform for attendees to learn, debate, and network with peers from a highly dynamic and exciting medical field.

The conference will cover key topics, covering recent updates in management and diagnosis of common pediatric diseases and disorders. Moreover, dedicated time slots for practical workshops have been allocated to allow delegates a more interactive, hands-on experience to keep abreast of the latest developments and future perspectives within the field.

Day one has a compelling line-up of speakers, with the first session on congenital diseases kicking off with Dr. John Meara from Boston Children’s Hospital who will deliver a talk on ‘Cleft Lip and Palate from a Pediatrician’s Perspective’ and Dr. Christopher Towe, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital will be speaking on ‘Rare Lung Disorders’. The Brain and Eye session will feature Dr. Mohamad Jaafar from the Children's National Hospital, who will highlight multi-disciplinary care in paediatrics through his session on ‘When Do Pediatricians and Ophthalmologists Consult Each Other’. Rounding up day one will be a session on emergency pediatric care including a talk on ‘Dermatologic emergencies’ by Dr. Shaden Abdelhadi from Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, SKMC.

On day two, attendees will be exposed to the realms of pediatric pain management and adolescent care. Key sessions include ‘Patient Controlled/Nurse-Controlled Analgesia (PCA/NCA)’ to be addressed by Ms. Amy Siebrecht, Dr. Katie Handlogten/Dr. David Haile from Mayo Clinic; ‘Brachial Plexus Injury: When to Do MRI And Refer to Neurosurgery’ by Dr. Robert Keating of the Children’s National Hospital; and ‘Delayed Puberty: When and How to Investigate’ to be delivered by Dr. Jamal Al Jubeh from Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, SKMC.

Finally, day three of the agenda will focus more on outpatient care and management. Dr. Aisha Alshamsi from Tawam Hospital will be speaking on ‘Newborn screening in UAE, past, current and future’ and Dr. Maria Alquiros, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, will be talking about ‘Home Feeding in Children with Congenital Heart Disease’. The conference will conclude on a high note with SKMC’s Dr. Amer Azaz and Dr. Mohamed Miqdady debating on the PPI Use in Gastroesophageal Reflux (GER).

The conference is accredited for 22 European CME credits (ECMEC®s) by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®)
