Muscat: Premium Motors in collaboration with Audi Volkswagen Middle East (AVME) and Ministry of CommerceIndustry, and Investment Promotion will host an exclusive workshop on the ‘Future of EV’ on December 15 for the benefit of all parties.

The workshop will cover a range of topics including Audi product intro, future strategies, current EV infrastructure in Oman, grey import challenges in Oman, EV technical requirements, EV after sales readiness and product experience.

Christian Nehme, General Manager of Premium Motors Oman, said: “Audi is driving its transformation from a car manufacturer to a mobility service provider by acting purposefully and with all its power. To build a sustainable future, the company is working together with its partners to preserve natural resources, avoid environmental pollution and assume social responsibility. Audi EV models serves as the blueprint for sustainable premium mobility. We anticipate a huge demand for electric cars in Oman and the curiosity we see around the electric cars bodes well for Audi Oman's future strategy of bringing more electric vehicles to the country. In this context we are delighted to host this comprehensive workshop.”

He added, “We appreciate Ministry of CommerceIndustry and Investment Promotion’s interest and encouragement and thank them for supporting the workshop on the ‘Future of EV’ which highlighted sustained mobility.”

In 2021, Audi sold 81,894 fully electric models worldwide– an increase of 57.5 percent. By 2025, Audi plans to have more than 20 fully electric models in its portfolio. Starting in 2026, the brand will exclusively bring new fully electric models to the market.

The company’s clear commitment to electric mobility is also apparent in its capital expenditure planning: based on plans approved at the end of 2021, Audi will spend about €18 billion on electrification and hybridization between 2022 and 2026. With total investments of around €37 billion, that means that almost half will go toward these two forward-looking fields.
