Sohar: Al Mar’a, Oman’s leading Omani Women Magazine, hosted its 2nd edition of Muntada Al Mar’a at Radisson Blu Hotel Sohar on Tuesday, March 23rd, 2023.

The forum focussed on women empowerment and their contribution to Oman’s economy under the auspices of Hon. Dr Aisha Al Washahi, Member of Majlis A’Dawla and Eng. Saeed bin Al Abri, Chairman of Board of Directors, OCCI, North Al Batinah as the Guest of Honour.

Jindal Shadeed was the Strategic Partner, National Finance was the SME Financing Partner and Renaissance Services, Sohar Aluminium and Al Jazeera Iron and Steel as Support Partners.

Muntada Al Mar’a witnessed a wide participation of notable women and speakers from the region across various sectors, who inspired and empowered Omani women and enhanced their capabilities. Khamis AL Balushi, Director General-Government Relations at Renaissance Services touched upon Youth Empowerment in the country. Other key notable speakers include, Badhriya Al Balushi,HR Operations at Sohar Aluminium, Maryam Al Khuzaimi, Administrative Officer at Jindal Shadeed, Muna Al Shukaili, Founder & CEO, Al Massa CSR & Marketing Company, Miaad Al Shidi, Founder, Zabra (SME), Dr. Maisam Shawish and Amna Ibrahim Al Shizawi from Jusoor Foundation. All the speakers highlighted the juxtaposition of women empowerment and growth in all industries and its impact on the corporate ecosystem.

The second session of the forum included interactive presentations and a dynamic panel discussion, with women leaders and entrepreneurs from the North Al Batinah region. The panel included Latifa Almuqbali, Cost Analyst at Sohar Aluminium, Dr. Laila Al Shandodi, Professor, University of Technology & Applied Sciences, Thuriya Al Husani, Founder of A to Z Hair Perfumes, Aiysha Al Mammari, Human Resources at  Jindal Shadeed,  Halima Al Farsi, Director General of Trade, Industry, Asma Al Futaisi, Founder and CEO, Zulfa Trading and Radhiya Khalfan Al Hashimi, Editor of Al Mar’a Magazine as the moderator.

On the sidelines of the forum, the second edition of "A’Nukhba" book was launched featuring key notable Omani women from the Al Batinah region followed by Al Mar’a Excellence Awards honouring inspiring women for their achievements.
