An overwhelming response was received by participants who joined from diverse fields comprising of entrepreneurs, teachers, bankers, people from corporate sector, doctors and students. The session was in line with the “Banking on Equality (BOE)” policy of State Bank of Pakistan which focuses on reducing the gender gap in financial inclusion. Through creating financial awareness, women will gain knowledge to be a part of the financial sector, both as customers & employees.

Welcome address was given by Syed Wajahat Ahmed, Head of Wealth Management, Dubai Islamic Bank. Guest speaker was Ms. Faiqa Naseem, Deputy Director, Financial Inclusion & Agricultural Credit, State Bank of Pakistan who comprehensively explained the overall BOE policy, its objective and progress.

The first training session was conducted by Ms. Aisha Kudiya, Unit Head - Product Development & Head - Women Financial Services, Dubai Islamic Bank.  She covered financial awareness in general emphasizing on the need to save, investment avenues in Pakistan, banking products & digital banking modes. The second part of the session was conducted by Mr. Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, Director IBA CEIF & Group Head - Shariah Compliance Department, Meezan Bank. He discussed Islamic Finance in detail, addressing the audience’s misconceptions on Islamic Banking & queries related to them.

The session was concluded with distribution of certificates and giveaways to the participants.
