In support of developing a renewed global economic relations network that supports expansion opportunities, business growth, and promotion of the emirate of Ajman as an ideal investment destination, the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) received a delegation from the VitalLife Scientific Wellness Center in the Kingdom of Thailand, to discuss ways of joint cooperation, exchange of experiences, and investment opportunities in the fields of wellness, health care, and medical tourism.
The delegation was received by H.E. Salem Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Ajman Chamber, H.E. Hamad Taryam Al Shamsi, Director of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection in Ajman, H.E. Salem bin Ahmed Al Nuaimi, businessman, and Mohamed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Trade Development and International Relations Sector. The Thai delegation was headed by Dr. Wanviput Sanphasitvong.
The meeting was also attended by Jamila Kajoor, Director of the Promotion and International Relations Department, Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al Nuaimi, Director of Member Relations and Support at the Ajman Chamber, and representatives of Thumbay Hospital - Ajman, and the Saudi German Hospital - Ajman.
At the beginning of the meeting held at the Ajman Chamber headquarters, Salem Al Suwaidi welcomed the attendees, stressed the strength of the Emirati-Thai relations, and praised the levels of economic cooperation and the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries, so that the total trade exchange between the UAE and Thailand in 2022 reached the value of USD 20 billion.
He stated that the Ajman Chamber is keen on growing the business of the tourism sector in general, pushing forward the growth of medical tourism investments, and exploiting the exceptional capabilities of Ajman, including the remarkable growth in the number of visitors to the Emirate from various countries of the world, the diversity of tourist facilities operating in Ajman, and the availability of a wide range of distinguished hospitals and health centers. in addition to the presence of an elite group of leading medical universities and colleges at the state level and the region.
For his part, Hamad Taryam stressed the importance of the meeting and its role in enhancing cooperation between the two sides in the field of medical tourism, educational exchange, and medical expertise, especially since the medical and educational sectors have follow-up and interest from the wise leadership. He also explained that Ajman seeks to strengthen its position as a leading destination for medical tourism and health care at the local and international levels.
The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation to develop innovative medical tourism programs, the importance of exchanging experiences and knowledge in the fields of health care and medical training, opportunities for cooperation in organizing joint activities and training courses to develop the skills of health personnel, and the necessity of exchanging health services and modern therapeutic techniques. The two parties also stressed the necessity of exchanging visits to review health facilities and medical colleges in both Ajman and Thailand and explore opportunities to develop joint programs for fellowship and training of doctors and health nurses.
For her part, Dr. Wanviput Sanphasitvong thanked for the warm reception and stressed the keenness of the Vital Life Healthcare Center, affiliated with Bumrungrad Hospital in Thailand, to strengthen its external partnerships and expand the Center’s work abroad, praising the extent of the diversity of medical tourism components in Ajman, in particular, and the UAE, in general. This promotes the opening of partnerships and cooperation that is in the interest of all parties
At the conclusion of the meeting, Salem Al Suwaidi and Hamad Taryam Al Shamsi, and Dr. Wanviput Sanphasitvong, exchanged commemorative shields and souvenirs.
