Emirates Transport supports NGV summit for second consecutive year.
Dubai, UAE : UAE's decision to deregulate petrol prices has stimulated environmentalists for an energy efficient UAE, thus encouraging individuals to adopt fuel efficient vehicles. (Source : Emirates 24 | 7). Since 2010, Emirates Transport, a federal government entity, has converted 3,350 vehicles including 2,000 taxis to CNG from petrol in Abu Dhabi. In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, 150 vehicles have been switched to CNG so far.
According to Mahir Al Sayed Ali, Manager at the Abu Dhabi Technical Services Centre of Emirates Transport, by the end of 2015 the infrastructure is to comprise 25 operational stations, a rise by 3 from the current 22, 16 of which are in Abu Dhabi, 4 in Sharjah and 2 in Al Ain.
Emirates Transport is conducting workshops to help drivers convert their vehicle to compressed natural gas (CNG) in Northern Emirate and Abu Dhabi. It also provides technical maintenance services for CNG converted vehicles in addition to all related support services.
In an effort to reduce carbon emissions in UAE and other GCC regions, Emirates Transport is supporting 2nd Middle East City Gas & NGV Summit which is scheduled to take place in Dubai between 8-9 December as NGV partner. Mahir Al Sayed Ali will be delivering a session on warranty acceptance aftter conversion of vehicles to NGV. The summit is being endorsed by NGVA Europe and NGV Global and is being supported by Cedigaz.
