Sharjah, UAE - The University Hospital Sharjah (UHS), a leading healthcare provider in Sharjah, established under the patronage of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has signed an agreement with Enaya, the Government of Dubai Employee Healthcare Benefits Scheme.
The new arrangement will offer direct and comprehensive health services to the majority of Dubai government-owned departments, including: Dubai Health Authority facilities, DP World, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai Police, RTA, EMARAT Petroleum and many others. The benefits include all health-related palliative, therapeutic, and surgical treatments, maternity and pre-existing and chronic conditions.
Mr Prasanna HTV, Director of Finance and Administration, University Hospital Sharjah, commented “It gives us pleasure to expand our network access across multiple communities, providing the highest quality health services. This affiliation is a further step forward in extending our services which currently covers more than 25 insurance companies.”
Including round-the-clock healthcare and pharmaceutical services, the specialty clinics will operate from Saturday to Thursday, 8 am to 8 am. In addition, the clinics provide treatment for a multitude of ailments (chronic and/or acute). Investigative services are available such as CT Scans, MRI, as incidental to health care services.
Coverage includes all the costs for in-patient hospitalisation, including: surgery and anaesthesiology, doctor consultations and nursing, medications, IV Fluids, blood transfusions, analgesics, chemotherapy, physiotherapy and dialysis. The out-patient services consist of general practice doctors, specialists and consultant clinics, follow-up consultations, physiotherapy and prescription medication. The hospital’s neo-natal care services and obstetrics and gynaecology services are among the most popular in the community.
In addition to multiple standard specialties, UHS also specialises in neurosurgery, retinal treatment, cochlear implants services, and high-end gynaecological surgical services. The hospital’s oncology services and dialysis centre are fully-functional and UHS is in the process of establishing the IVF Centre for in vitro fertilizations later this year. Considered among the top hospital’s in the region, not only servicing the community of Sharjah but also communities across the UAE.
