• Five Dubai residents race through Geant Hypermarket in 90-second sprint to get as much free shopping, household goods and personal care products as possible
  • Winners selected following Dubai Asset Management’s social media competition
  • Contest aims to make Dubai one of the world’s greatest, happiest places, and is part of Dubai Asset Management’s commitment to provide moments of joy

Dubai: Dubai Asset Management, the owner and manager of one of the city’s largest portfolios of residential communities, has successfully concluded one of its most exciting residential competitions to date. The DubaiAM Shopping Spree gave five residents the chance to race through Geant Hypermarket in an exhilarating 90-second sprint to grab as many items as possible for free.

Scenes during the contest were reminiscent of the universally beloved American television series Supermarket Sweep, which included a timed race through a grocery store. It was the first-ever DubaiAM Shopping Spree and each of the residents walked away with up full shopping cart of groceries to take back home. It is part of Dubai Asset Management’s ongoing commitment to provide residents with moments of happiness and enhance Dubai’s position as one of the world’s most liveable cities.

The participants included Joan Cusay from strategically located residential community Al Khail Gate, a; Tinoosh Khaleghi from Shorooq, a family-friendly neighborhood in Mirdiff; Vivek Panicker from the suburban community of Ghoroob, Zanal Afzal from the Mediterranean-inspired villa and apartment complex Layan; and Riza Redondo from Remraam, which offers spacious and luxurious residential homes. The competition took place in Al Khawaneej Walk, was hosted by Dubai92 radio presenter Jono with kind support from Geant Hypermarket.

While each entrant had different strategies to extract maximum value from the competition, they only had a nail-biting 90 seconds to get as many free goods as possible in one trolley – and often that meant making some tough choices and wasting potentially valuable seconds.

Each of the residents had been selected at random following Dubai Asset Management’s social media competition which asked residents to explain what they loved about living in their community.

Dubai Asset Management, a member of Dubai Holding Asset Management, strives to provide the best possible living experience and launched its Random Acts of Kindness initiative #Neighbourgood in 2019 to surprise and delight residents. This has offered people amazing experiences from helicopter rides, skydiving and Hummer desert safaris to VIP concert tickets at the Coca-Cola Arena, as well as special giveaways on occasions such as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
