The North Africa Future Banking Forum 2016 brings together global banking leaders, key stakeholders and decision makers to focus on the rapidly evolving digital banking landscape in the region and discuss the future of the African banking industry.
Cairo: The North Africa Future Banking Forum 2016 kicked off on Monday at the Nile Ritz-Carlton in Cairo, Egypt. The high profile banking event witnessed top banking leaders, key decision makers and stakeholders come together and stage a dialogue on driving innovation in banking through digital and business transformation.
The forum flagged off with a keynote presentation titled 'The impact of digitization in banking environment' by Frederic de Melker – Head of Retail Banking & Wealth Management Retail Department at Emirates NBD(Event Partner), which was followed by a session titled 'Digital enterprise – A future proof foundation for digitization' by Arashdeep Sandhu – Principle Sales Consultant at Oracle Financial Services (Gold Sponsor).
Digital Transformation in an Omni-Channel World', was explained by Mohamed El Sabban – Head of Digital Banking at Commercial International Bank Egypt while Jiang Yu, FSI Solution Director at Huawei Technologies(Silver Sponsor), conducted a Cast Study on Fuel your Digital Transformation with Huawei.
The CXO panel elaborated on the latest trends in banking innovation and was moderated by Khaled Sherif – Co founder & Chairman of the board at Cequens The panelists included Khaled Hamada – CIO at Banque du Caire, Slim Mezghenni – CIO at Taysir-microfinance, Medhat El Leighty – Former Senior Consultant at Commercial International Bank Egypt and Mohammed Abdel Malek – Former Head of IT InfraDriving innovation with North African Future Banking Forumstructure & Communication at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt.
Badr Soliman – Senior Digital Channels Manager, AVP at Barclays Egypt, elaborated on the Business Transformation: Empowering the Analyst for successful delivery, in his presentation, while Faris Mesmar – VP Sales and Business Development at InfoFort (Silver Sponsor) and Roy Zakka – CEO & Founder of Ubanquity (Silver Sponsor) addressed the issues on Globalization & Data flows and Managing Customer Experience respectively. Kannan Ramasamy – CEO at Vayana (Silver Sponsor), focused on Embarking on a CEM Journey with new technology.
Special emphasis was made on attempts of Payment Technologies, economic inclusions by Khaled El Attar – Undersecretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. Speaking about the evolving banking landscape, Khaled El Attar said “In a digital age of anywhere and anytime connectivity, big data and customer service expectations exploding new structures, new arrangements & new partnerships need to be established re-configuring & changing the relationships between societal actors & challenging every aspect of our traditions & social constraints.
