Dubai: Following the resounding success of its 1st & 2nd cycles, the Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) has launched the 3rd cycle of its Mentorship Programme 2021. The Programme is one of the Council’s trailblazing initiatives to support businesswomen and female entrepreneurs in the Emirate of Dubai.

Given the intense competition in the labour market and current challenges, the five months programme, which ends in August 2021, will help foster businesswomen and female entrepreneurs’ skills, develop their expertise, and enhance their competitiveness within the business community.

About 52 businesswomen and female entrepreneurs participated in the previous two cycles of the programme, where they have been paired with experienced mentors to help them develop their skills and strengthen their expertise.

The DBWC stated that the deadline for submissions will be on February 21, 2021. The Steering Committee will then begin the screening process to approve the names of mentees and bring them together with the respective mentors, given that each mentee seeks to develop a specific functional area of her business.

The Council further added that non-members can apply for the Programme and their applications will be subject to approval after it has been thoroughly screened by the Steering Committee.

The steering committee is led by Nadine Halabi, Business Development Manager of Dubai Business Women Council , and include Hanane Arif, Vice President and Head of Communication and CSR and Business Development Officer at Societe Generale Middle East, Nazha Osseiran Jaroudi, Managing Partner of Chipmunk LLC, Nisrine El Lababidi, Founder of  the Harf Noon Design Studio, and Salma Sakhnini, Chief Executive Officer of ICON Training & Coaching.

The participating members will be mentored by renowned experts specialised in professional disciplines, according to a well-thought-out and comprehensive plan.

Commenting on the occasion, Her Excellency Dr. Raja Al Gurg, President of Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC), said: “Launching the 3rd cycle of the Mentorship Programme amid these extraordinary circumstances clearly reflects the Council’s commitment to supporting its members with the necessary skills for their development and success, especially that the current challenges require a certain type of leadership and professional skills that bring together the mastery of smart marketing skills and the utilization of modern technologies to uplift the institutional performance,”

Al Gurg underscored that the Council takes great interest in investing in the working women of Dubai, noting that the Programme is the first of its kind in the region that targets businesswomen and female entrepreneurs, according to specific training that fulfills the requirements of each participant, making the Programme one of the most prominent initiatives for institutional, personal and professional development in Dubai’s business environment.

For her part, Nadine Halabi, said: “The DBWC Mentorship Programme focuses on enhancing the competitiveness of its members, through offering customized mentorship and training that meet the mentee's needs. The way the Programme responds to the needs and requirements of each participant is in fact what makes it special.”

“The programme will enable participating members to bolster their capacities, nurture their skills, and improve the institutional and professional performance,” she added.

Halabi called on businesswomen and female entrepreneurs to join the Programme and get the most out of its benefits. Those willing to participate can visit the DBWC Website: www.dbwc.ae

Established in 2002, under the umbrella of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the DBWC is the UAE’s leading platform for the personal and professional development of businesswomen in the Emirate of Dubai. Since its establishment, the Council has dedicated its efforts to encourage women to play an active role in building the country and stimulating sustainable development.
