Dubai: Dubai Airport's Free Zone Authority (DAFZa) has unveiled quality initiatives to its employees during the implementation of the remote work system in order to sustain the excellent pace of work and to establish an environment conducive to the smooth and easy continuity of "remote work" to maintain the bonds of functional relationships during this new experience.

The initiatives developed by the Dafza Human Resources Department included the "Dafza Virtual Staff Forum" initiative, through which a specific agenda is developed on a weekly basis to discuss the current employee experience and their proposals with the leaders of the free zone and to allocate a certain period of the forum for employees who would like to share a certain achievement in order to establish relationships and encourage them to establish a positive and friendly environment despite the interruption of direct communication during this period.

In order to appreciate the efforts of distinguished employees in accordance with the results of the follow-up of the functions and their reports and the evaluation of department managers, Dafza continued toapply the system of praise and appreciation during this period through the intercom system in order to motivate employees and appreciate their exceptional efforts in the performance of their work and their efforts to maintain the quality and excellence ofthe experience of foreign customers and companies in Dafza.

Davza continued her commitment to developing the capabilities and skills of her employees remotely by activating a digital learning platform that allows her human staff to join various training courses and lectures with the aim of continuing the career development process and continuing to meet the professional career requirements of its employees. The platform also allows its employees to choose specific topics that expand their knowledge base and build new skills to invest their time while working from home.

"Human development and employee happiness are priorities for the free zone, and the continuity of this system is essential during the period of the implementation of the remote work system because of the need to achieve the highest levels of performance and quality of business normally, which is directly linked to the happiness of employees and customers," said Youssef Behzad, Assistant Director General for Human Development and Strategy at Dafza.

"Our initiatives also come as a kind of psychological support for employees during remote work and periods of social spacing in order to maintain their positivity and enthusiasm, which is directly reflected in the high results in achieving the performance indicators of the work of the departments and maintaining the level of services that pre-pandemic customers have been accustomed to. We are now in the process of finalizing a plan to rehabilitate the staff for the post-Corona period, with the aim of preparing them for that stage."

Ibrahim Al Banna, Senior Management Manager, Human Resources Management, said: "Dafza's outstanding digital architecture has provided us with the opportunity to transform our business and follow the course of our human development process by default. We are currently studying and reviewing our domestic policies based on lessons learned from the current experience and what may result in the future. We communicate with employees on a daily basis to receive their suggestions and follow up on their level of satisfaction and happiness while experiencing remote work, which also ensures their safety and mental health during this period and the restrictions on social spacing and interruption of personal and direct communication in the work environment."

A survey conducted by "Daza" among employees to survey their opinions on the system of work remote and effectiveness of the work work showed that the satisfaction rate of employees of the system reached more than 85%, with high results in terms of effective communication, the presence of resources and mechanisms required and the level of productivity, while the job satisfaction index grew during the first quarter of this year to 81%.

It is worth mentioning that Dafza later encouraged customers to apply the system of work remotely in order to maintain the safety and health of their employees in addition to applying social spacing mechanisms and precautionary measures within their office work, stressing the continuation of the sterilization process periodically and conducting thermal examination of the visitors of the free zone facilities. The Authority has implemented a system of remote work fully since the rational leadership instructions were issued last March and all its services are digitally digitised.

The Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority has taken a series of preventive measures to reduce the spread of the new Coronavirus within the free zone, where it has formed an emergency and crisis committee working around the clock to monitor and follow up the progress of operations in the free zone during this difficult period and apply the guidelines and directives issued by the Ministry of Health and Community Prevention and various competentauthorities. The Free Zone has implemented 100% remote working system within the Authority's buildings based on electronic and smart applications and the advanced technical infrastructure enjoyed by the state and the free zone, in addition to urging its companies to apply the same system to preserve the health of their employees and the vital business community.

It's over.
