Jeddah: On a relentless mission to safeguard civilization, Dragos, Inc., which is a global cybersecurity company, is helping industrial organizations in Saudi Arabia detect and respond to the threat challenges posed to critical infrastructure in the Kingdom.
Dragos continues to expand its work in cooperation with the government of Saudi Arabia and industries in the region to help strengthen the security of critical infrastructure.
Robert M. Lee, CEO, and Co-Founder of Dragos said: “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has recently taken one of the world’s leading positions in developing and maintaining cyber resilience and protecting the critical infrastructure and cyber ecosystem in the region. Saudi Arabia's investment in cybersecurity technology, education, and collaboration with industry—including key programs such as the Global Cybersecurity Forum—are paving the way for continued progress.”
Giving an outline of Dragos' plans to help industrial organizations detect and respond to cybersecurity threats in the country, Lee said: “Like elsewhere, preparing the workforce to protect operational technology and keep up with advancing threats is a critical need. In addition to providing our industrial cybersecurity technology, we are making our own investments in the region through local offices, training facilities, and key partnerships.”
Dragos considers growth in Saudi Arabia as central to its expansion in the GCC region and is focused on helping to build a strong industrial cybersecurity community and raising awareness about the importance of securing operational technology for critical infrastructure, including water and wastewater systems as well as oil & gas, energy and utility, and manufacturing.
Lee said: “We expect strong growth as cybersecurity companies support Saudi Vision 2030’s call for digital transformation and increased connectivity in critical systems. OT cybersecurity will play a special role in protecting oil and gas, chemical, mining, industrial, logistics, water, manufacturing, and other industrial organizations.”
Dragos Vice President of Services Ben Miller recently participated in the two-day Global Cybersecurity Forum held in Riyadh, where he advised industrial organizations in the Kingdom to realize the potential challenges as early as possible to safeguard their businesses and communities.
The cyber security market size of Saudi Arabia is projected to reach SAR 21 billion ($5.6 billion) by the end of 2023 as the country moves towards strengthening its digital infrastructure and digital transformation in line with Vision 2030.
The Kingdom ranks No. 2 globally in its commitment to cybersecurity among 193 countries and ranks No. 1 in the Arab world, the Middle East, and Asia in the index, published by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which is a specialized agency of the UN.
Dragos has made investments in the region through local offices, training facilities, and key partnerships. It has also assembled a team of world-class experts who have been helping safeguard civilization in the region.
Founded by experts, Dragos, Inc. is the global leader in cybersecurity for industrial control systems (ICS)/operational technology (OT) environments, which believes in the mission to safeguard civilization.
