Clark Door, a leading manufacturer of high-performance door systems based in Carlisle, has been awarded the prestigious King's Award for Enterprise: Innovation. Clark Door has been recognised nationally prestigious Innovation Award. Since opening its doors one year ago, the Middle East has become an integral part of Clark Door’s international operations. The local team has worked tirelessly to build strong relationships with local partners and clients, with a focus of expanding Clark Door’s offering in the region.

The King’s Award for Enterprise is the UK's most prestigious business award, and is awarded annually to companies that demonstrate exceptional levels of performance in the areas of innovation, international trade, sustainable development, and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

This is the second award of this nature for Clark Door in the space of three years, having received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade in 2020.

The Innovation category is awarded for an outstanding innovation in a new product less than three years old. Clark Door has been recognized for its development of the Clark Multigard, a high-performing, security-rated door with acoustic properties.

With a well-established reputation as a supplier of high-specification acoustic doors for theatres, opera houses, and film studios across the world, the Clark Door team works closely with architects and consultants to meet clients’ bespoke requirements. It is from these insights that the team identified the need for a high-performance, acoustic, security roller shutter door.

While it only launched in 2020, the Clark Multigard has already become the fastest selling new product in Clark Door’s 50-year history. Clark Multigard doors can already be found in prestigious venues such as The National Gallery in London and SGX Centre in Singapore.

The company's innovative approach to product development, coupled with its strong customer focus and commitment to sustainability, continues to solidify its leading position in the global market for high-performance doors.

Commenting on the award, Andrew Ashley, Managing Director said: "We are thrilled and honoured to receive The King's Award for Enterprise. This is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and ingenuity of our entire team, as well as the strong partnerships we have built with our local supplier base and with our customers around the world."

"Following the opening of our £3million dedicated R&D centre in 2021; we remain committed to delivering innovative, high-quality door solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers, while also driving sustainable growth and contributing to the communities in which we operate. This award is a great recognition of our team’s achievements to date, and we look forward to building on this success in the years ahead."
