Abu Dhabi, UAE: Alongside their families, over 50 colleagues from Miral and Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue, conducted a beach clean-up at Yas North Beach.

Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences, and Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue, held the clean-up to help protect the emirate’s marine ecosystems and mitigate damage caused by harmful ocean debris. The initiative fell squarely in line with the center’s commitment to regional marine conservation and ocean preservation.

Taghrid Alsaeed, Executive Director – Group Communications and Destination Marketing at Miral, said: “We are proud to conduct this great beach clean-up initiative alongside Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue, the region’s first-of-its-kind dedicated marine research, rescue, rehabilitation and return center. Sustainability is at the forefront of our 2023 strategy and this initiative is a testament to our shared dedication to improving the community’s commitment to protect the marine wildlife, habitats, and ecosystems. We are united in our vision to forge a sustainable future for our future generations, and this is just the first step of our conservation journey.”

Dr. Elise Marquis, Director of Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue, said: “We are thankful for everyone from Miral and Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue who participated in our first beach clean-up. Plastics, debris, and other waste caused by human activity can seriously harm the marine life native to Abu Dhabi’s beaches and carrying out such initiatives is integral to our mission of marine life conservation and ocean preservation. I’m also grateful to our Education Team, who were present and shared their valuable insights into the precious ecosystems of the Arabian Gulf and its diverse marine life. One of our core pillars at Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue is to build relationships with all communities in Abu Dhabi, and collaborative work like this will help raise awareness and achieve these goals. This was only our first beach clean-up, and surely it won’t be our last.”
