Doha, Qatar: GIG Gulf, one of the largest insurance providers in the MENA region, has set out its ambitious growth plans for Qatar in 2023, detailing its focus on partnerships and forging closer ties with the Qatari broker community.

Following its 2022 transition from AXA, which has been present in the region for over 70 years, GIG continues to grow in Qatar, leveraging its fast-growing presence and strategic partnerships in the country. 

As part of its strategy, GIG Qatar is scheduled to welcome over 80 members of the Qatari insurance community at the St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island, Doha, on the 15th of March to share its growth ambitions and present its strategy for innovation. The event, which is a first of its kind gathering in Qatar, reflects the importance of intermediaries in the local market, and their instrumental role in GIG Qatar’s success story. 

The event follows a year of milestones for the insurer, with significant ongoing investment in its digital infrastructure to transform the customer experience in Qatar. GIG Qatar has launched a series of ground-breaking services in Qatar over the past year, including EasyClaims, which is a digital platform for real-time end-to-end motor claims. It is the first such service to be offered by an insurance company across the GCC markets. The platform allows customers to register their motor insurance claims by entering minimal information and track the process in real-time. EasyClaims uses big data and AI-based analytics to present granular details on the parts needed for repairs, costs, and timeline. 

At the event, the company will showcase the ‘MyGIG Digital Healthcare’ app, which has been launched in Qatar. This innovative app serves as a one-stop solution for members to access a wide range of healthcare services, including digital cards, claim submissions, network location, and free teleconsultation services with licensed physicians. Additionally, members in Qatar will also have access to exclusive offers and benefits through the app.

As part of its continued commitment to the local market, GIG has invested over 10 million USD in the development of this new medical insurance platform environment, reflecting the company's dedication to providing top-notch solutions to its customers in Qatar.
